There is now a new function installed, giving the option to ignore threads and forums. The thread and forum will apparently still be visible from some views, but it do give more options than previous.
To ignore a thread or a forum, open it and use the the "Forum Tools" or "Thread Tools" option. Removing an ignore can be done from the user panel (Settings), under "My Account"/"Thread & Forum Ignore Lists"
