We generally don't delete an account, unless there is a special reason for it.
In most cases, the want of having the account deleted usually is because of the want to not getting notification from the site, or having an encrypted or hashed password on a site one isn't visiting any longer. So I will replace your email-address so it can't send any notification to you anymore, and replace the password with something random.
