    USS Vesta

    http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/USS_Vesta_(prototype)

I have developed two versions of the Vesta, the prototype launched in 2380 (which had similar structural problems as the Defiant project, it took three years to fix all of the structural/design problems the Vesta had) and after being re-built and relaunched in 2383, this prototype was fitted with a standard warp core (type 14/T). The 2385 refit has a Quantum Induction Core fitted.

The Vesta was the first Starfleet vessel designed with a combined quantum slipstream/warp drive engine. The ship suffered structurally during its testing phase. Nevertheless, it served successfully as the template for future Vesta-starships. Following the tests, the remains of USS Vesta were stored in a ground-based facility of the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards on Mars.
    Multi-mission Explorer
The class was designated as a multi-mission explorer and was a test-bed for a number of experimental technologies, including quantum slipstream drive. As of February 2381 there were seven vessels of the class in service.

Pursuant to new Medical Protocols, all Medical Facilities are equipped with holo-emitters for the usage of the Emergency Medical Hologram System. Additional holo-emitters for EMH use are located through out the entire vessel.
Counselor's Office: The Counselor’s office is also located on Deck 5 to assure a more efficient medical treatment environment. Inside, the usual plain duranium walls are softened with an atypical palette outside of the normal Starfleet gray and blue. There are no visual sensors in this office and audio recordings are done only with the voice code of the Counselor. One of the ships holo suite's is reserved for medical rehabilitation purposes.

    Propulsion systems
    (combined QSS/warp drive system)
The Vesta-class starship USS Aventine served as a test-bed for a number of new Starfleet technologies, including quantum slipstream drive. Systems installed as part of the slipstream drive included a quantum field focus controller at the front of the ship's main deflector, and a chroniton integrator; the latter of which could be used to take sensor readings several seconds into the future when the ship was using its slipstream drive.

First-Run Advanced Propulsion Drive (APD-01) designed by the ASDB. This lighter, high-power core utilizes swirl technology instead of a reaction chamber. Additional improvements to Plasma Transfer Conduit technology makes the drive system more energy efficient then traditional warp cores. Improved verterion coil manufacture allows for smaller nacelles producing superior warp fields. Isomagnetic EPS standard.
    Quantum Slipstream Drive (300ly/hr) <80>
**(special note I would suggest that as a first-run QSSD it should have a run time limit imposed, say 12 hours before having to 'cool-down' [say for at least 1 hour], that still gives the ship a 3600ly range in 12 hours. As far as the test every rnd while operating [see page 37 Space Dock], I personally believe that that is way over the top, maybe a test every hour would be more appropriate.)

    Aerowing Captains Yacht

Mounted on the underside of the saucer section, the Aerowing rests in a recessed hatchway just aft of the ventral sensor array. The craft serves in the capacity of a runabout aboard larger ships. In fact the Aerowing’s technology and design is based, in large part, on the Danube class runabout.

The Aerowing provides a large secondary craft, long-range travel, and the protection, armament, and sensor capabilities beyond that of a standard auxiliary shuttle. Facilities include quarters for the crew, 2 luxury passenger cabins for VIP use and a fully functioning med bay. A holosuite and small lounge provide for the needs of the passengers and a four-person transporter allows for beaming of personnel or cargo when needed. Atmospheric flight capabilities allow this shuttle type to land on planetary surfaces.

as it stands the build is finished and ready for use (I did tweak it a little this morning, just some fine tuning). I didn't put any power usage figures in, though that is standard for my write-ups.

To be honest I prefer this build to the Sovereign in which this build was based on.

so Morloth does the write suit your purposes? Is there anything that I have done that you think was wrong or needs to be changed? Is there anything in the build that you would like explained (as in my think concerning why I did it that way)?

Thank you so much - this basis will be my attempt at a Temporal Insertion Vessel (TIV). As such it will be major Time Vessel, not a small one like the Temporal Shuttle Aeon or the Temporal Security Vessel Well-Class Relativity. It will go on Temporal Missions requiring many more people and resources.

Not a problem mate, it's an easy adaption, remember (as per Omega's 25th century and beyond notes) for every century past the 24th century you can add 15% to the available su's allowing space to add temporal equipment (at least a temporal specialized science lab, chronoton sensor array, temporal warp core (to power all the temporal goodies), temporal transporter systems, temporal shield enhancements and maybe a temporal rift generator. Then there is advanced temporal based weapons [subatomic distributors and chronoton torpedoes at the very least] to consider.

If I were going to make the Vesta into a Temporal Insertion Vessel (TIV) I would base it in the 29th century (the same as the mentioned Aeon and Wells, and with the Wells already being written up by both Omega and I) which would allow for 4 century's worth of advancement (487 su/century so 24th century su's available 3250, 29th century su's available 5198)

I should also add that I have written up a TIV type vessel, the Infinity-class Enterprise NCC-1701∞ (launched in the 2880's), which shows what a state-of-the-art size class 16 (the same size as a Borg Cube) vessel can look like.

    Vesta specs

I haven't compared them to what you established, but if you're interested, these are the canon specs for the Vesta, per Mark Rademaker (the original designer).

Thanks Chris, those stats seem to line up somewhat well with what I did, though the two formats are completely different.
