Personally, I'd say to NOT rebuild the WTC.

Leave it as a memorial: to those who died; to those who died trying to save/rescue the victims; and to the horrors of conflict, that we as a race might learn from it and the events that led to the carnage, and hopefully to never repeat them.

The wreckage can serve as a memorial in its own way - hopefully as a standard for peace and freedom, much as the Statue of Liberty does a couple of miles away.

Don't rebuild it. What it stands for will never be forgotten if left alone.

    Cost schmost.

Already donated from corporations is 80 billion dollars, and that's not counting the 40 billion that congress okayed for the effort of rescue, clean up and rebuilding.

It's not so much a matter of if, but a matter of when.

Make sure you perform any blessing ritual and exorcism. You don't want to turn it into a haunting ground, like that ship in California, the Queen Mary II?

With the place being the site of death and destruction, there has to be some wandering souls -- spirits -- trying to find home.

Curiously, prior to my visit back to the Boards, I was trying to envision the rebuilding of the WTC towers, which I'm all in favor of it. As Reg said, there should be a wall with all the names of those who lost their lives innocently in the attack. But the names should cover an entire wall of both buildings' lobbies, so everyone who visits the place is able to see them.

We lost 107 lives in two terrorist at the Israeli Embassy in 1991, and the Israeli Mutual in 1994. Both buildings have been rebuilt, bigger, stronger and proud, with a memorial plaque with the names of those who died. I think there's no option but to rebuild the Twin Towers.

Perhaps they should consider placing a 20mm minigun on the top. Concealable.

I'm kind of kidding but I would hate to rebuild just to have the same thing happen, or the same thing happen in a different way!
