    Do you know what I forgot to install in the Star Wars ships?

    Do you know what I forgot to install in the Star Wars ships? …Repulser Lifters? What are they? What do they do?

    Some of my group had dug up some books references and notes about the ships using a tech that I had not put into the Spacedock ships. I read everything they had given me and yes Vagina there is a Repulser Lift Tech in the Star Wars ships.

    Repulser lifters, from what I understand it does much like the AG generators that the High Guard ships and such use in the Andromeda, they change the ships weight such as a brick to that of a feather. So an ant can carry the Millennium Falcon when it is operating, well maybe not an ant but you get the idea.

    I looked through the main Spacedock book and I could not find anything that referred to such tech in there. If there is, I did not see it.

    This is what I generated for Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda a few years back. It will work just the same.

    AG Generators (Artificial-Gravity Field Generators)

    Power Cost: 1 x size
    A versatile technology, which harnesses exotic matter concentrations to alter and manipulate gravitational fields for various purposes. For example, in a spaceship, artificial gravity is used to reduce effective mass for thrust, to prevent items from being squashed by the ship's acceleration and to allow the crew to operate throughout the ship. Also, when artificial gravity is concentrated on an area outside of the ship (via an Exotic Matter Lens) away from a gravity source (like a planet or sun) it can be used to generate a rip in the fabric of space, allowing the ship to enter/exit the Slipstream (see Slipstream).
    With the AG generators active the ship is capable of speeds twice the speed that the ship may achieve at speeds that allow the ship to travel using less the power to achieve speeds.

    Forget the jargon but works to allow the ships to rise up several meters or more lightening its weight till it is clear of the surface and engage the main sub light drive and sail clear. I assume that the ships of star trek have such it may be a part of their Impulse or warp drives allowing such the same. This comes into play when a Star Destroyer is parked over the surface of a planet well into the atmosphere and deep in a gravity well of a planet.

    Oh! …and it would allow a moon size object to move in space easier than using just engines, such as the Death Star.

    This was pointed out to me and I had to give in that I did not have an answer to their point and I could not find an answer in the spacedock books.

    I think there is a point where generating new tech it is going to necessitate for me to make a modification to the spacedock SU’s availability for future ships of our games. This is an example of why I have had to create some tech as someone has come up with an idea for an adventure and ask where is this or that and I have to look for it.

    on a different scale warp fields are used to lighten the mass of a vessel so as to allow them to achieve FTL.

    As far as the benefit, what is the quantifiable benefit of the repulsor lift tech when it is installed on a ship? (or did I misread/miss it?)

    Except Memory-Alpha is a Star Trek site and this is a Star Wars question. Completely different technology and laws of physics. Star Wars ships do not use Warp Drive, they use Hyperdrive.

    Repulsor lifts are basically antigravs used to lift off the surface of a planet, as when the Millennium Falcon lifts out of Docking Bay 94 in the original Star Wars (no bloody Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7). It seems to me that ships without landing capability would not need them.

    I understand that and believe almost everyone else understood that as well.

    The system in Trek Impulse engines that does what you're suggesting is not an antigrav unit (or repulsor-lift) but rather the Driver Coil Assembly (DCA). (quoted from the ST TNG TM). Repulsor-lifts are what makes Luke's speeder hover and what X-Wings and the Falcon take off vertically. They are a combination of an antigravity generator and a pressor beam (reverse tractor beam) for propulsion. The pressor beam, to put it in Trek-speak, is much like a focused version of the repulsor jets in Iron Man's boots and gauntlets which allow him to fly.

    Basically, the DCA in Trek Impulse drives uses a small amount of the highly energised Impulse plasma to create a low-level Warp field around the propulsive plasma exhaust. Star Trek uses the equivalent of repulsor-lift technology in shuttlecraft and landing-capable starships like the Defiant and Intrepid classes in much the same way Star Wars does. In Trek terminology, it's called the Ground Hover Suspension Field (GHSF).     maybe do some research before making yourself look foolish. I researched the word Ronin and Waveman before picking that sobriquet and actually talked to someone who was fluent in Japanese, and it was he who told me about the literal meaning of Ronin being 'wondering person', then I confirmed it using wikipedia.

    Not to worry as it was a valid point that I even missed when I started building Star Wars ships at the beginning as I never thought much about it till someone asked me about it. It makes a valet point of attack for someone firing on the ship.

    Now that time has past I realize that it could be a part of the RCS which is the thrusters on the ship. This would be where the lifters could be apart of but I am not going to go and change my ships all back after retrofitting the entire fleet with the new systems.

    I will be modifying the hit location chart to accommodate the new systems into the Star Wars game. I have had to do this for the Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5 and Stargate ships. anytime I add something I have to update the chart. I think that I am on version ten or eleven now.

    I have been busy with some personal things of late and haven't been around for a while and it will be a while before I am back again.

    I would say that there is some sort of anti-grav integrated into all the separate propulsion systems (impulse engines, warp drive, Reaction Control Systems [RCS]) on Federation vessels. As both Owen and I showed we know for sure that impulse engines and the warp drive do.

    I would agree. but I have made them separate for game purposes. So the storm troopers can disable just them.

    Here is the new chart that I said that I would produce for the ships. I made only a few changes to here from the original Spacedock tables. It is useful in all games. I looked hard and made it up to make a ships intractable with one another.

    From what I can tell the Venator-class (1137m long) and Imperial-class (1600m) were the largest ships made atmo capable, as in the description of the Venator-class it states "A stock ship was 1,137 meters long, making it one of the largest capital ships capable of atmospheric operations, landing on planets to load and unload troops and vehicles" making me think once they went larger they didn't make them atmo capable.

    As they do list atmo speeds for the Imperial class and Imperial II class I would hypothesize that ships over around 1600m were not made atmo capable.

    the First Orders Resurgent-class (2,915.81m) doesn't have an atmo speed listed, so they aren't atmo capable.

    Wave Man, the term "wave man" is the English translation of 'Ronin' (Japanese word) and literately translates to "wandering person" and in a modern context a WaveMan is one who is socially adrift or a SalaryMan who is between employers.
