    Wellington Class Light Cruiser

Looks like a goose flying but other than that, it makes another interesting ship to add to the fleet.

You will note that there are things that missing the saucer separation systems, I was up in the air of which I wanted to place so I left them off for the time being. I know that the Galaxy and Ambassador class are two that have it and the Sovereign class but others I do not know about and I am still guessing at it.

Royal Sovereign Class XV Battle cruiser

I know that there are a lot of people out there that like this particular vessel but I have never liked it all that well. For starts it looks like a boat… no make that a funky looking canoe nevertheless I converted it over anyways. It has the least amount of wiggle room as any ship so far. Though in a fight, it would be an adversary that would have some teeth to bite with.

Klingon Defense Force K’Mirra Alliance Class XIV Battle Cruiser

Though it does look Klingon in appearance it is an ugly spud that clearly can carry out the missions that are assigned to it and fight battles. I would say it is too lightly armed but this what FASA had in mind I am guessing. The Excelsior, Enterprise, Gargan and Galaxy classes already exists in Spacedock so I am not going to convert them over… maybe later on.

There is one that is called the Star Trek Tactical Combat Similator ( the web site is http://www.ststcsolda.space/ ). And then there is http://fasaststcs.com/ that has TNG era ships that are good as the creator has tweaked them nicely and created ships that are useable and looks to be expanded on the construction notes. When you have time check them out. i know that there are others out there but have changed adresses and my links have gone unupdated.
Is part of the problem timing re: the license? When the FASA Trek license expire? Maybe Next Gen, which came out in 1987, was close to the end of print and FASA rushed to get something out.

The FASA license did not exactly expire... FASA issued the first (purple cover) version of the TNG book, just about the time that Viacom bought Paramount, and Viacom decided that they wanted to have separate licenses for each iteration of Trek, so they stalled on the approvals. FASA got frustrated and and released the TNG book and Viacom/Paramount squawked. FASA was allowed to replace it with the second (red cover) version, but all further FASA books were cancelled, including the Marines and Civilians books. About that time Viacom wanted to shut down all unlicensed fan web sites (this was early in the history of the World Wide Web), but Paramount's marketing staff convinced them that this would kill their fan base and since at that time Trek was the economic mainstay of Paramount Pictures Inc., it would have a negative effect on their bottom line, so they relented. This mindset is still in place today, leading to the punitive fan-film guidelines after the Axanar fiasco and the separate licenses for pre- and post-JJ Abrams Star Trek.

Unfortunately, Steve did not have the full infotermation and got that detail wrong. The designer of the ship produced design sketches that say it could indeed separate. See: http://fsd.trekships.org/art/1701-e.html for further info. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and read the last paragraph, and click on the thumbnail. Before bringing up the old canard that design notes are not canon unless seen on screen, I'll preemptively counter with "neither are licensed properties like games and novels".

I thought I was on your ignore list?

IMHO the Enterprise E shouldn't have saucer separation, its design does not suit such a feature and we were talking about converting ships into Space Dock, and as you say it was never shown as canon so really a moot point. Or was your point merely to counter/take an opposing view to anything I post?

The same could be said about the Akira-class, as per Space Dock it has saucer separation, and again IMHO that feature doesn't suit the design. Canon and Space Dock often do things differently and deviate to significant degrees.

You were, but you aren't any more. If you don't think the Sovvie should have saucer separation abilities, by all means don't use that capability in your game. Your Trek universe is YOUR Trek universe - that's always been my position, no matter who you are or whether I agree with your views. You're the GM, and it's between you and your players. I was just pointing out that the designer of the ship thinks it should, but that it was never seen on screen, so technically it's not canon. In my Trek universe, it does have saucer separation, but it's a last ditch emergency measure, not a MVAM capability, so it's unlikely to feature in the campaign unless I have one defeated by an enemy like the Borg or FASA's Kinshaya (not the bastardised version of the Kinshaya featured in the Typhon Expanse books). There are a lot of things - minutiae mostly - where I run things differently than other people, and who's to say who's "wrong". The only things that are common to Trek campaigns is what's established in canon, but even then interpretations vary. In my campaign, GalaxyQuest takes the role that Star Trek does in the real world; TAS is a thing, but not historical in the way TOS is but rather a TNG-era holodrama for kids based partly on history, but some like BEM and The Infinite Vulcan completely made-up; Enterprise is historical except for the finale which is a TNG simulation based very loosely on the real events; DS9 and Voyager happened, though like TOS and TNG, they're the "official records" with the real stories behind them potentially differing in some minor details; the Hobus Star exploded devastating Romulus but the rest of JJ-Trek and Discovery are alternate timelines. In my Trek game The Orville might be part of the GalaxyQuest series, or it might turn out (depending on how I like what airs) to be part of my continuity... No-one else is bound by my assumptions and I don't expect anyone to agree with me on any or all of it. Indeed, given my view of the Trek, everyone else's campaigns are valid alternate universes - in fact, I'm re-running my old Relic campaign on RPol.net, and it's an alternate timeline branching off from the events of the original gameplay.

The only "One True Trek" is what we've seen on screen and we all have what some people colloquially call "head-canon" and I call "personal continuity", and nobody can tell anyone else that one or the other is more "real".

Hope that clears up my position on what is or isn't Star Trek.

another pedantic, sanctimonious and unnecessary explanation. I remember having to say exactly the same thing to you in several of my posts (my Khan Ascendant scenario for example) and I honestly don't care what YOU think Trek is or isn't. It's just a pity I can't add you to my ignore list.
