The Maxim of Vigilance class were brought about hastilly, due to the vastly expanded shipyards, 1x Technological improvements, and increasing Klingon Militarism in neutral space and some border systems. Completed hastilly after 13 monthes production, the only two of these ships ever built arrived on the frontier and tested the lack of Organian interference in smaller, one-on-one ship combats, giving existing squadrons time to redeploy and dozens more time to be completed in the General War, one, the USS Spearman of Twilight being destroyed engaging an L-13D and two D-14Bs in 2283, and the Prototype,USS Maxim of Vigilance was destroyed after a long, five-hour duel an an asteroid/nebula thick system in the Triangle in 2291.
