History-
The Maiau Olurin Class was developed to take over for light cruisers in the echelon, to provide troops and heavy firepower, and sometimes even lead squadrons of light frigates, destroyers or escorts, making use of 1X tech, and quite formidable in engagements of any number. Nineteen were in use when the ISC joined the Romulan Republic in 2350, and were studied by Romulan Scientists and Engineers, who found it fascinating to try putting an RCD on the ship and see how effective a stealth ambush vessel it was. The last went into Romulan and Veltressai Museums in 2371.
