Mulitple Trek series possibly on the Way!

Alex Kurtzman Sets Five-Year CBS TV Studios Pact, Will Oversee Expanded ‘Star Trek’ Universe
CBS Television Studios is going all in on “Star Trek.”

Variety has learned that the studio behind “Star Trek: Discovery” has signed Alex Kurtzman to a new five-year overall deal that will see him supervise the expansion of CBS’ “Star Trek” franchise for television, developing new series, mini-series and other content opportunities, including animation.

To that end, sources say there are currently multiple shows set within the “Star Trek” universe already in development.

The potential new shows are said to include:

A series set at Starfleet Academy from creators Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz. The duo currently serve as co-showrunners on the Hulu-Marvel series “Runaways” and are best known for creating shows like “Gossip Girl” and the CW’s reboot of Dynasty.
A limited series whose plot details are being kept under wraps.
A limited series based around the “Wrath of Khan” story. Khan’s full name is Khan Noonien Singh. He was famously portrayed by Ricardo Montalbán in both the original series episode “Space Seed” and again in the film “Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan.” Benedict Cumberbatch then played the character in the 2013 film “Star Trek Into Darkness.”
An animated series whose plot details are being kept under wraps.

CBS Television Studios declined to confirm any specific projects.
So more series for CBS All Access or the new series going to be spread around (Showtime premium cable network [Showtime Beyond], Pop basic cable channel, CBS network, Network Ten (au), Decades [classic network - so out of place]) . The CW seems to have its line up set for the next season including an additional day (Sunday), but the CW does have many mid season shows. Who knows when or if these shows from Kurtman's Secret Hideout production company will come out. Story wise, it doesn't bode too well as Kurtman wrote some of the recent films; "He previously co-wrote the screenplays for the 2009 film “Star Trek” and the previously mentioned 'Into Darkness.'" OF course, he could have been working from Paramount's direction instead his own.

Wave Man, the term "wave man" is the English translation of 'Ronin' (Japanese word) and literately translates to "wandering person" and in a modern context a WaveMan is one who is socially adrift or a SalaryMan who is between employers.

Yeah, this has pretty much zero much to do with "New Star Trek series", but I figure it's close enough. Lost count of how many times I've watched this; the editor Mr. Myers speaks of deserves some serious congrats. Hope this is enjoyed.

    Two new series

Steward says he is back as Picard.

Patrick Stewart To Star In New ‘Star Trek’ Series As Jean-Luc Picard On CBS All Access
The acclaimed Shakespearean actor is set to headline a new Star Trek series for CBS All Access, reprising his iconic Next Generation character, Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
But is not a Next Generation revival.

This is the third Star Trek series to be officially announced, joining Star Trek: Discovery, which is heading into its second season, and the upcoming Star Trek: Short Treks four-part limited series.
First I have hear of Short Treks, too.

    Out of this comes....

    Star Trek: The Lower Decks

.... as an animated comedy series for All Access.

" It will be produced by CBS Eye Animation Productions, CBS Television Studios’ new animation arm, along with Alex Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Kurtzman and Heather Kadin will executive produce along with Roddenberry Entertainment’s Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth and veteran animation executive Katie Krentz. McMahan will also executive produce in addition to writing. Aaron Baiers, who brought McMahan to the project, will serve as a co-executive producer."
It has a two season order already.

Another Star Trek animated series, not yet title, is heading to Nickelodeon.

Nickelodeon, CBS Eye Animation Recruited for ‘Star Trek’ CG Series

Nickelodeon and CBS Television Studios have greenlit a new animated Star Trek series, to be developed by Emmy Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman (Trollhunters, Ninjago) and overseen for Nickelodeon by Ramsey Naito, EVP, Animation Production and Development, Nickelodeon. Debuting exclusively on Nickelodeon, the original CG-animated series expands Gene Roddenberry’s incredible universe for a new generation of fans as it follows a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation.

The series will be from CBS TV’s new animation arm, Eye Animation Productions; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Katie Krentz, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth will serve as executive producers alongside Kevin and Dan Hageman. Aaron Baiers will serve as a co-executive producer.
