The Racoon-Class, much like the D-13 of the 24th Century Klingon Defense Force, has excelled at both Destroyer and Scout Roles, is highly nimble, and often gets by with much smaller crews than it was designed for, as small as 5-9. Starfleet has used this class for Exploration, Recon, and to supplement Tank-Class Destroyers in the more volatile war zones. They have been produced at Sol V, Merak, Andor, Argelius, Donmasto and Antares Fleet Yards at a combined rate of 26 per year.
