10 MAJOR STEPS IN AVOIDING AN ENSIGN DUMPY SCALE CATASTROPHE AND BUILD SOMEWHAT DECENT SHIP DESIGNS

This ship at top is a FRAUD. It is an ABOMINATION, and a shining example of how the very Ptzue Colony (Yes, that one), and some others would build AWFUL ship designs that could easily be MUCH, much improved up to somewhat mildly-garish somewhat-notbad<good, condensed into THESE NUMBERED FLAWs for you to understand and shoot on sight:

1: Kitbashing parts from Multiple Eras. Yeah, that TMP Bridge on the Voyager Saucer and TMP/TNG Stardrive with Akira Catamaran, Abbe and Andor Torpedo Pods, and Sovereign Nacelles looks jarring, like a (too kind to say Paradox) impossible blob of old Trek Ships and amazing Special Effects put together in a barely comppatible, archaic techno-mess. Stick to parts from all one era.
2: Making ships too Munchkiny, which for non-gamers are SUPER-POWERFUL, sometimes near-infinitely superships
3: Focusing too much on Battleships, Battlecruisers, and even some explorers; most ships are smaller utilitarian ones
4: obsessing over one Era
5: Making everything "Experimental" or "Highly Successful"
6: Getting the Size wrong
7: making ships that GO AGAINST Federation Ethics, like Cloaking Devices
8: abusing old Okuda/Sternbach Graphics
9: Making Star Trek Ships way more powerful than Star Wars ships
10: having tacky, excessive eings, weapons pods, numerous stardrives, leading to a redundant, garish sucker

This, after the Thoth-Class, shalt teach thou how to design like a resonably next-notbad somewhat savote-novice Smegeroony, and was the SCOURGE of Star Trek Ship Design, spot, avoid and bodyslam these flaws into the Galactic Dumpster, and you'll improve as a Naval Architect, whether you use a Shipkit or not.
