    Sovereign Class

    I was looking at the post that I made a while back that I worked out the saucer separation from the stardrive for the Galaxy class and I figured out that it would make better starships if one was to construct the saucer and stardrive separately as independent starships. http://forum.trek-rpg.net/showthread...separate-ships I was working on the designs such as the Galaxy class and now the Sovereign class.

    Other than the Galaxy class, Ambassador, Constitution, Prometheus, maybe the Cheyanne, Excelsior, and Nebula I don’t see many starships that have this system. Most starships are a saucer with nacelles of some sort or have their secondary hulls attached to the primary directly with some sort of additional structure added to it. Do you have any other ships that meet these criteria, not including Discovery? This pertains only to Cannon starship of the prime Trek Timeline. Looking I don’t see that many ships that would have this design except may be the Enterprise-J in the future, but I am not going there and staying with The Next Generation Era and The Original Era Series.

    The separate sections are nice as separate ships. I like the versions this way it makes the ships easier to use as they can share power when connected and have enough power to fight. Separated they saucer has barely enough power to survive let alone move. I would through a third impulse engine into the mix giving the saucer more power.
