The U.S.S Architeuthis Kirkii (N.X.-183120), was a somewhat morem advanced 5X, or 5Xl Frigate designed to replace the somewhat primitive Aerteuthis Class. Google the "teuthis" name, for convuluted info, this Class was in service as a Troop and Intelligence Ship in the Existence War against the True Ones.

So around 150-250 were built (although hard numbers are not possible to pinpoint right now), at a rate of 18-21 per year at Chiokis, Tellar, Donmasto and Antares Shipyards, and many were retired save for six used as training ships, the last finally retired in 2618.
