History-
The L-15 Class Dreadnought is a stablemate of the C-8 and C-9, pretty close to them, but bigger, and designed to carry the earliest Photon Torpedoes, a Battle Bridge, and greatly miniaturized and complicated Flag/Strategic Bridge Consoles, sometimes viewed as a "Poor Man's Dreadnought", and "Unoriginal Knockoff with Ambitions above it's Station", the L-15 of Eta Universe is NOT the Robicon Battlecruiser of 18inchfly.com, and they were introduced in 2270, one of the first 4 coming off the production lines were destroyed by Insectoid Aliens Admiral Kirk and Commander T'Cel were investigating in December, 2271.
The L-15A was underpowered, with KP-1s that were already weak, and with poor arcs, and weak, but swift Warp Engines, an L-15B designed and fielded in 2277, switching to the KP-3 so successful on the D-7M and D-28A.
The L-15C was launched in 2296, and quickly supplanted the older C-8s, C-9s, and L-14s, along with the C-10, and was further upgraded with improvements in every area.
The L-15D was developed in 2320, further improving the new forward Heavy Disruptor Cannon into something truly formidable, using improved blue Trilithium-Depleted Photon Torpedoes, an early advanced heavy torpedo, and while the class was insipid, loathed and unpopular, it was pretty powerful and fielded against major enemies of the Empire, including the Talarians, Cardassians and Kinshaya, finally, the Dreadnoughts were retired in 2358.
