    Unhappy Spacedock Blues

I have downloaded Spacedock... but I cannot read the pdf file. I have downloaded the most recent version of Acrobat Reader (4.05a for the mac) and still cannot read it. I get a "error processing the page" and then it gives me a "Cannot find the token.." and some garbage...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

The following is NOT a slam against Mac and Mac users, but...

You got a friend with a Win 9X PC? I know it can be read on a Celeron running Win98. Hopefully a kind friend can print out a copy for you? I notice that you're in Hawaii. Are you in the same city as Reg, also a denizen of thes Boards? If so, maybe he'll take pity on you.

    Hi,
I'm running a brand new PC and I get the same errors.
    Should I download it again?

    Thanks for any help

Works fine for me, using an old P233 and Win 95 running Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.05b

Sorry, bro. My computer is prehistoric (a Pentium, no bloody MMX, no bloody II, III etc.) And with less than 50 MB of free hard disk space, I can only view a few pages before the Operand error pops up.

Oh, well. Gonna have to print it anyway (a few at a time if I must).

It's alright, I am used to getting slammed for using a mac.

I do have a PC at work. Ugh. I don't think it's the mac as much as adobe's writing. Oh well... Pretty sad. But I still appreciate the effort steve!

Oh and yeah I am in the same city as Reg... Don't know one another personally, but he is a swell guy. It's me Yves from the ML.

You and me both, Brother. My home machine is a P166 with 48MB of RAM running *NT*, for Pity's Sake (well, I had to prepare for a certification exam *somehow*, right?), and I can maybe view and print three pages at a time.

Fortunately, when nobody was looking, I sent myself a copy at work, last night, and I can go in and print from there this weekend.

Just as an FYI, even with a PIII 128MB RAM system and a stae-of-the art HP printer that does automatic duplexing (printing on both sides, in the original color), Spacedock took a whopping 5 hours to print at "Normal" quality. It is very nice, and short of a hardcover binding, going to be as close to a retail product.
Laser printet would be much faster, though color lasers are pretty pricey.

By the way, not only is Spacedock a super product, especially for us roleplayers who like to occasionally indulge the closet gearhead in ourselves, but the PDF layout that was performed is top-notch.

Who said that image isn't everything?

    Cool

Don't feel too bad, REG. I won't be able to print it as my printer at home has turned carnivorous (papervorous?) and there's no way in HELL I could print that big a doc here at work...

Ah, well. At least I have it in electronic format, eh?

PS Hiya, Yves! Long time no see.

    Looks really great so far!

P.S. How's it going Doug? I've been shying away from Trek a bit though i still listen in on the ML

Great news, Yves. Now you can bask in the glory that is SpaceDock and gaze in wonder on the works which Steve and Don have brought forth.

Or you can be less mystical about it and just enjoy the book...

    Glad it worked out, Yves.

Now if I could just find a way to get it printed...

PS Quite Good actually. I unsubscribed from the ML myself, but still lurk around here for the msot part... I'm even running a Trek game, too! Who'd have thunk it?
