Hi, I read this homepage quite often in former times but had a "break" when there wasnt a change for some month. Now some weeks ago I pleasently saw that even greater resources than before are aviable (and had to see LUGTrek is dead ... was wondering why no new books came out...).
SD is a great rulebook (thx Steve) and so I decided to make up a Negh'Var (I think I read that it wont be one of the ships included in SRM, if yes nm I can see how closely I came ).

Fleet Data: Seen first by Starfleet in 2372 at DS9 when the Klingon Assault Force headed for Cardassian space. Most Probably the first of its type (IKS Negh'Var) that is till nowadays Flagship of the Klingon fleet.
The Negh'Var is bigger than its cousin, the Vor'cha, but shares general design notes. The main difference is the fact that the Negh'Var operates two independant Warp cores to minimize the chance that one good hit can destroy the combat capability of this ship.
Other than the Akira-class and other Federations ships from the PDD (Perimeter Defense Directive) the Klingons still consider energy weapons (Disruptors) the main armament of their warships. Though close range weapons the Disruptors can inflict more damage in short time (especially when in that high number like in a Negh'Var Battleship).
It is also to be noted that the Negh'Var Class like all Klingon vessels carry no escape pods. Sto-Vo-Kor is after all a more honorable place to be than a tiny unarmed escape pod.
Noteworthy vessels/service records/encounters: IKS Negh'Var, Klingon flagship and prototype, led invasion of Cardassia under General Martok (2372)
Design Notes: I thought Escape Pods simply dont fit to a Klingon Vessel.
The Main Datas I got from DS9 Sourcebook. Couldnt find much in the www about the Negh'Var.
I saw the fact with the two warp cores in another thread here 15min before I started creating the design (lucky me ).
I justify the fact that the Negh'Var has more SUs than a Galaxy though it is smaller with the fact that Klingon ships are "more narrow" and use every inch of space for weapons, engineering stuff, etc...
Please tell me what you think about the design.
