DESCRIPTION AND NOTES
The Honour-class Strike Cruiser was originally planned with two versions, an Explorer and a Heavy Cruiser, using a common design but for the equipment fit and staffing. The theft of ASDB technical documentation by a Tal Shiar agent in 2371 and the rumours of the potential threat raised by the Kormerek-class Swift Warbird which used elements of those plans resulted in the Honour-class design being overhauled whilst the first ship was still being built. The superior capabilities of the ASDB and the Utopia Planitia Shipyards enabled the counter to the Kormerek to enter service just 3 months after the Romulan vessel commissioned.
Whilst the hull form basically remained unchanged, the redesigned Honour-class now boasted a heavier armament, faster warp engines and regenerative shielding combined with a greater degree of system redundancy to reduce the chances of a crippling ambush by a cloaked opponent.
From the side the Honour-class looks similar to the Akira-class, having an engineering hull that slopes upwards from the rear of the saucer and a pair of warp pylons that angle downwards, although unlike the Akira the Honour's engineering section is a single hull. The large angular D-shaped saucer curves down towards the sides and has a deep ventral dome in the centre that merges directly back into the forward part of the engineering hull which slopes slightly upwards from the centreline of the saucer. At the merger between the two sections the engineering hull is quite deep and relatively narrow although it soon widens out into drooping, wing-like structures before narrowing again towards the stern. The last quarter of the engineering hull widens and angles sharply upwards before leveling out so that the stern of the vessel, holding the main impulse engines and the shuttlebay, is in fact the highest point on the hull. The short, forward-swept warp pylons hang downwards from the "wingtips" of the engineering hull and are normally angled slightly inwards so that they are completely hidden by the saucer from the front, although being variable geometry this often changes.
The beam weaponry is very unusual since it primarily consists of pulse phasers mounted in pop-up turrets supplemented by a single heavy phaser array and a trio of torpedo launchers. This choice of armament is due to the need to be able to cripple or destroy an uncloaking hostile as quickly as possible and the power and accuracy of pulse phasers provided the best chance of achieving this goal. The main forward pulse phasers were upgraded during the final stages of construction from Type Xs to Type XIIs which resulted in the forward mount, hanging just under the chin of the saucer, having less flexibility although it's still able to cover a 180 degree forward cone. The saucer also carries three other pulse phaser mounts: the ventral array mounted on the central saucer bulge; plus the port and starboard turrets mounted on the flanks. With the dorsal pulse phaser turret on top of the rear of the engineering hull each turret is at the most extreme point on the hukll to give the clearest field of fire in the appropriate arc. Since Starfleet recognise the limitations of pulse phasers a standard phaser array, albeit a heavy Type XII system with ACB Jacketing, was mounted on the saucer in an hourglass pattern, half dorsally and half ventrally, providing a wide firing arc to all but the rear of the vessel due to the engineering hull causing a large arc shadow. The two forward torpedo tubes are mounted on either side of the saucer, just below the centreline, whilst the aft launcher is mounted at the rear of the neck where the saucer and engineering hull merges flanked by the auxiliary impulse engines.

DEVELOPER'S NOTES
The way I picture the design is sort of like a Battlestar, but with a far larger forward saucer section, the hull sloping up at about 10 degrees after the forward section & the fighter bays replaced by the warp nacelles hanging down from the tips of the small, downward curvinvg delta wings the start from about where the first pylon is on a Battlestar & end just at the point where the aft thickens and angles up.
