Thread: A Challenge!

    Cool A Challenge!

Okay I suck with Spacedock...I mean I am treuly bad at this. So here's the proposal

At some point in my game, my players are gonna come across a perfectly preserved Consitution (Old style)

Now Starfleet will decided for in game reasons to upgrade and refit it. Hull upgrades, power systems, weapons, et al. Bringing it up to speed with current ships.

Anyone think they could do that?

    Cool

    Sure they could. Why?

Oh all right! If a Miranda can hack it in the 24th century, so can a Constitution (uprated). Use the Miranda engine and weapon stats, change some stats for size and so on. You get the picture?

Hmmm... An uprated uprated Constitution. Yeah, I'd like one of those. At least I wouldn't have to look far to find deckplans for it

Opps....My bad, should have been more clear. Anyone think they could build it's stats in Spacedock I meant

I was just thinking since the old Enterprise had what...415 odd crew...now that was back in the days of "packing them in" as Dax said in T&T...So with the new auctomatic systems and what not she would be about 150 to 200 tops eh?

And what would you do with all that extra space? What would go in there. Excellent weapons, solid labs, good recreation facilites and nice crew quarters

I would be really, really thankful if someone could design an all around design set of stats for an upgraded Constitution

    Thanks in advance.

Oh and go here if you wanna see what she would look like after her refit; http://www.3dgladiators.com/forums/u.../000017-5.html

This ship is beautiful to a fault!

    Cool

Well yeah... that's what I meant. You would take the uprated Miranda as the basis for uprating the similar Constitution. What you would end up could look very similar to the ship in your 3d CG (quite nice by the way). I think Space Dock would allow this without too much trouble. Swampy has already tried to do the old Constitution. It ought to be easy to do an uprated uprated Constitution.
    Let me think about this...

Please take your time. No need to rush.

As for the image, yeah Acension does great ships. That one just blew my mind! Also seanr's bridges have to be seen to be believed. I am hopping I can get him to do one for this ship as well

Not bad! At first glance this looks pretty good. Have to read it closer, but it looks like you did what he asked for.

Oh and the model specifically does not have any aft facing torpedoes.

Love the fact that you jacked the shields though, a 1000 points of protection kicks ass!

Good stuff. I would love a copy by e-mail.

    Ok,
I went with a bigger crew as even thought the miranda & excelsior have been modernized, they still have the same crew sizes. I got the rear mounted torp launcher from the "Mr Scott's Guide To The Enterprise" It's just my take. And if your going to moderize her you don't want to leave your rear arc open

I'll send you the file np.

That'd be a helluva cool ship for a TNG campaign. Kinda like driving a '57 Chevy or deuce coupe. Maybe you should paint flames on the saucer and chrome-plate the warp nacelles.

Hey, love the idea for the flames and chrome... any psychologial effect upon coming up to a ship and seeing it thusly painted.

Flames and chrome? My goodness, how very 1950s.

I think I will give it a pass if that's all the same with you guys

Actually, we were never told how big the crews were on the Miranda or Excelsior-classes during the movies. And the stats we have are for the 24th Century variants.

I would say they have been reduced somewhat since that time (advances in automation and so forth). But YMMV, of course.
