Thread: Schematics in SRM?

  1. #1

    Question Schematics in SRM?

I noticed that at the end of each ship description there is quite a lot of blank space on the page that looks like it could hold a ship graphic, schematic, etc... I don't see any however. Is my computer just not showing them for some reason or are there no graphics in the SRM?

Just wondering because I didn't watch much DS9 or Voyager so I have no idea what a lot of these ships are supposed to look like.

You're not missing anything. There aren't any ship graphics.

    Cool

Ok, thanks a lot. Btw, Spacedock and the SRM are just incredible supplements. I always wondered why no one before now has made ship construction rules that were complete yet didn't require a year of calculus to use. Everyone on Trekrpg.net should petition WotC to let you write the Star Wars ship construction manuals.

I certainly wouldn't object to taking a crack at the SW ship rules -- ships in that setting are built and function differently from those in ST, so it would be an intriguing challenge. But I suspect that WOTC will keep that little assignment in-house. I further suspect that Spacedock wouldn't inspire them to hire me to do it even if they were looking for freelancers; it would scare 'em off.

Well, I have most of the old WEG Star Wars stuff and I have the new WotC version. Based on Spacedock, I'd be willing to bet my RPG collection that you'd come up with something better than the crap WotC is going to put out (assuming they ever do). When it came to ship construction and combat in the old WEG version, I considered the designers guilty of criminal negligence. The WotC systems so far are even more abstract than that.
