    Question FASA cloaking/movement phase

    Greetings everyone:

The FASA starship combat simulator says about the cloaking device "...the captain may decide to activitate it at once, or wait until part 10 of any Movement phase of the current turn..."

Part 10 of the Movement phase? I know of no more than 3 phases per turn. But "part 10?" I'm a little confused and am hoping someone can help us.

We want to use the cloaking device, but this part made it quite confusing.

    Thanks!

I don't have the book to hand at the moment, but as I recall each turn is broken down into distinct phases. Moving, firing, cloaking, etc. But I really don't recall the details, it's been years since I played combat sim.

Sorry I can't be much more help, but I'm sure someone will chip in with more info.

The FASA rules I have don't cover Starship Combat, and the regular combat rules don't seem helpful.

EricB007, you are correct about the 3 phases.
You will perform certain steps 3 times(phases) during each turn.

The rules you are dealing with come from the
Advanced Rules section of The Star Trek Tactical Combat Simulator.

The Rules for Combat follow this sequence:

    Power Allocation Phase - Steps 1, 2

Tactical Advantage Phase - Step 3

    Sensors Phase - Steps 4, 5, 6, 7

    Movement Phase - Steps 8, 9, 10, 11

    Firing Phase - Steps 12, 13, 14, 15

    Repair/Repower Phase - Steps 18, 19

Continuing the Game - Step 20(Repeat Steps 4-19 for the second time/phase)

    - Step 21(Repeat Steps 4-19 for the third and final time/phase for this turn)

Ending the Game - Step 22(if victory conditions are met).

You may also wish to check this site:

    http://grayling.users1.50megs.com/

As it has a Yahoo e-group, ships, play aids
for the game. It even had the full rulebook, though you may have to inquire with the site owner or on the group to obtain it.

    I hope this helps(=).
