Jonava-class Carrier (Norway-class refit)
My first design, sort of. It's the Norway-class from SRM-1, modified into a carrier. In the alternate Dominion-war setting I'm working on, I've got a not-quite-all-there Andorian engineer (Captain Gaalen Ivari) in charge of a repair facility who's been patching together & modifing the wrecked ships he's been sent. The SRM says that all of the Norway-class survived the war, and in the same breath that the Luxembourg was destroyed in a battle in 2374. By GM fiat, I solved the inconsistancy by doing the modifications & renaming it after Capt. Ivari's home region on Andoria. (Ghods, Acrobat Reader needs to support cut-n-paste!)

NX-65054-A U.S.S. Jonava
After the USS Luxembourg was all but destroyed at the Battle of Tyra, the once proud ship was towed to Forward Logistical Base 17 for salvage. The Chief Engineer for the base was Captain Gaalen Ivari, who has been described by some (Ok, more than some...) as being something of a mad genius when it comes to repairing ships. Seeing that the war was likely to drag on, and that there'd be a use for attrition units like fighters & fast attack craft, Capt. Ivari set about fixing & re-fitting the hulk of the Luxembourg. After six months, she was ready. The Luxembourg had been struck from the active lists, so Starfleet command renamed her for the homeland of the engineer who brought her back from the dead. A number of less mission critical items were chucked out the airlocks (so to speak) to make room for the uprated weapons and larger hanger bays. The holodecks were retained due to their usefulness as flight simulators for the pilots, but the higher end quarters were downgraded to merely "nice", and a chunk of the probe storage has been given over to torpedos. Her current assignment is long-range raiding into the Dominion rear.
(Going to go soak my hands now to loose the Carpal-tunnel I feel coming on... )
