    Post Re-routing control

How does one re-route control from one system on one ship to the same system on another ship? I have access to the main computer if that helps.

Well, in TWOK it was established that each ship has a "prefix code", and that another ship armed with your prefix code can use it to assume control over your ship. In the film, IIRC, they dialed in the code on a readout mounted on the console on the Enterprise, and now the controls on that console affected Reliant instead.
I have read some stuff on this, and most of it suggests that this only worked because Kahn was unaware of it. That is, this system was designed for various non-hostile uses, and could be resisted by a crew that anticipated the move.
I would say that any two Starfleet ships could make this kind of connection if both sides agreed, and both sides had functioning controls and computers. Since the computer handles everything anyway, relaying commands from the consoles to the systems, you are only adding the step of having the computer use subspace radio to relay the commands to another computer. This would likely reduce the effective skill of the user somehow, but would alow the running of a ship on remote control.

Note also that this should be a relatively recent change, since in the "Doomsaday Device" Kirk had to be physically present on the Constellation to steer it into the machine. Either no capacity for remote control existed, or something was blocking it (interferance, damage, ...).

However Perrry, if your referring to using an airlock control to access a main computer here

Then its worth mentioning that I feel that if you have access to the main computer and time, you could pretty much do what you like...

Especially if the computer is eating out of your hand due to an excellent roll...

Of course if you want to try complicated computer functions and time is a factor then you would need a more powerful terminal than a door control and TriCorder...

Don't forget you will probably have to get by several security protocols even if it's you own ship because you might not have the proper clearence.

And any smart Mutineer/Hijacker would block/change the prefix code imeadiatly.

However, a Hacker could make short work of such blocks
