The long-running campaign is set on a Galaxy -- mostly because everyone knows what the sets look like, have an idea of what the thing can do, and because I wanted the 'town in space' feel that would allow any kind of character and mission.
The new campaign is two different groups that never will meet, but have an effect on each other -- a self-made merchant vessel based loosely on some of the initial designs for the Defiant, and a Starfleet diplomatic/intelligence group based on an Akira -- because it's the state of the art, shiny, ass-kickin' ship. Just the thing for the Romulan border.
Oh, I just wanted to pass on kudos from a bunch of Hero System fans I met in the LGS the other day. They say, "Great job, Steve!"
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
