What!?!?! Fight alongside those devious, sneaky Rommies?!?!?

    Sure- that could work.

That could work. Though I think if we did it the Dominion side should be npc. We had enough trouble organizing the Akira/fighters and Warbird/Theta's.

Plue it would let more information be put on the board.

    Cool

Yeah, that might just do it, Pesterfield. Now, who wants to run those Dominion ships?

good question, cause that takes so much effort 'Naratting' these games. I mean the math is simple, but having to calculate all that. I feel for you CMDR.

Plus, in hind sight, I played my character more as a Diplomat (since he had exstensive knowledge on the Romulan Culture) rather then the CAG he was suppost to be, sorry abou that.

But wouldn't this scenerio be kinda broke? I mean two Capital Ships and their wings v a wing (3-6) Dominion Attack Ships. I don't know. I mean they pack a hell of a punch, but would that be balanced, or is that the point of this excersize, sir.

<----------By the way, going to MEPS on TUE to retake the ASVAB, Yawn! Going for a 91W position if I can get it.

But I do see a way we can link it to the previous game, and keep it going. And that would more then balance it, especially with Venture's damage and her disembowled Air Wing. What do you think? Email me.

oh, again, sorry for my absense, I just moved, traveled, and just got my connection @ my new place.

No need to be sorry, the AvD match went about as well as could be expected and I enjoyed just about all of it. The quantity of the math is a pain, not the quality. I'm sorry if it seems I protested too much. I would just like to see how someone else runs one of these.

Why do you have to retake the ASVAB? Wasn't once enough? At any rate, bon chance!

I would very much like to see your ideas for a follow-on scenario. Please go ahead and send/post them.

    Oh yes, welcome back!

CMDR, no you complaints weren't to much, I feel yah on that one, esp running the group I use to. But then who is willing to do it this time?

About the ASVAB. For entry it's only good for two years after the date taken for enlistment. I took it in 1998. So I have to retake it to have a 'current' score when I get assessed when I enlist. I got a 80 last time, with a strength in Mechanics, and a weekness in Automotive Knowledge.

But about the game, the first thing I have to know is that do we have the current info on the USS Vanguard and her Disembowled Air Wing? If so I was thinking about something like this:

The Destruction of the Star Runner isn't something that wouldn't go unnoticed by anyone with a good long-range sensor array (come on now people, a singularity collapses). Furthermore, USS Vanguard would want to communicate what has happened under a secured frequency (not only for repair and assistance purposes, but for dimplomatic reasons also).

With this being said the Romulan's would be alerted of the fact that RMS Star Runner was destroyed, and would thus send One or MORE vessels to investigate. And the Federation would desperatly try to send assistance to Rendevue with USS Vanguard and/or to assist in further 'exploration' of the class M planet which caused all this. Some where in the mix (either through monitering of Subspace traffic, the explosion, or a combination of the two) the Dominion is alerted about this and sees a possible conflict that could weaken the FMR alliance and start internal conflict that'll allow them to enter the Alpha quadrant again in full force.
Furthermore while in the Alpha Quadrant the Dominion must have captured several Clocking Devices, both Romulan and Klingon in Origin. Now really, since they could see past it, or something, they must have been able to understand it's capabilities and thus could have reversed engineer it and made a better one. But basically that would give the Narrator a way to get the Jem Hedar to the area of conflict. Or of course there could have been vessels that didn't know of they Treaty of Bajor, I mean what the last official surrender of WWII didn't occur until 1980 when there where was a handful of Japanese hold outs in the PI (Philippines).

I have to go, I may continue this further.

    Cool

    Well, let's see...

Would Vanguard hang around to further investigate? Would it retreat towards Federation space, licking its wounds? Would it call for immediate help, dragging Sovereign and Prometheus class ships to the rescue? Or some combination?

This is more role playing adventure. Nothing wrong with role playing. Space Dock rules were born out of the RPG. Just be careful what you wish for.

As for the Dominion, its not currently a problem or a threat. Now there might be some Jem'Hadar forces and/or Vorta remaining in the Alpha Quadrant and they might be interested in this situation, but I wouldn't count on it. Jemmies and Vorta without Founders are ships without rudders.

As for the 'alliance' between the UFP and the RSE- there couldn't be a more fragile peace! The Romulans will take ANY advantage they can find and make it their own.

Lest we forget, the promise here seems to be a planetary defense system capable of annihilating the Borg...

Sure you don't want to play something else?

Hmmm . . . sounds like exactly what I'm looking for, an Online RPG, but is the rest of the crew interested, I mean I still have their emails saved.

If not, hmmm . . . then OK, role playing wise the Jem Hedar aren't the most logical choice. I mean it would be great to see the outcome, but how do we explain it, especially if we're going off the old Campaign/Excersize. But it would still be interesting to see, or how about two Akira's (one CVL/E variant, and the other a CA (Heavy Cruiser) Variant) v 6-8 Jem Hedar Attack Ships.

Maybe the USS Vanguard (after being repaired) & the USS Panay (Named after the first American Vessel lost to the Japanese (A very Obscure fact)) are escorting a diplomatic mission (onboard the Panay) through the Dominion. Upon returning from a location deep inside the Dominion, Rebel Jem Hedar Attack Ships hit without warning using captured an assimulated Cloaking Technology. Or Upon Returning and incident happens near the openning of the wormhole and hostilities commence, trapping the Diplomatic Task Force behind enemy lines. Any other ideas on what would be good if we are not going to make it a full fledge game? PLEASE say game . . . (See my posting on the Game Finder Message Board)

    Question

Is anyone else still interested in this?

Please, this is one of my few hopes of continuing my Star Trek Gaming life out there, especially in the position that I'd like to play

Aw, c'mon JALU3. You know I'm interested. We just gotta find someone else to run it. I can't be the only one out there who knows how to use Space Dock!?!?!

Wel, I'm also interested. But I don't think I'd be any good at running anything.

Well I'd be willing to . . . however I already have a character, and it would be immoral for me to GM while I have an active character, and furthermore, I leave for boot in JAN, so it would be very short lived if I was the GM, while if I was only a player, it can continue without me directly controlling the character that I had created.

    Any other suggestions?

Oh what the Hell. I'll do it if the previous narrator could send me the stuff from last time.
