    Cool

We're not picking on an NCO. We would never pick on an NCO or skilled enlisted personnel. We're picking on you ... "Lieutenant."
    Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

    LIEUTENANT?! Them's fightin' words!

REG, did you know I spent two years on the Little Rock Air Force Base Honor Guard? I'm eminently qualified to take charge of your funeral and present the flag to your next of kin.

"On behalf of the President of the UFP and the grateful free people of the galaxy, I present this flag in honor of the dedicated and loyal service of REG. Our thoughts and non-denominational prayers are with you on this diurnal period."

That's good to know. With your experience in that protocol, at least I do not have to worry in the afterlife whether or not you would disrespect me and my kin at my funeral ... such as spitting in my grave or my casket.

That's why I am claiming ignorance right now. To this day, I still don't know where the hell the Warrant Officer ranks fit within the military hierarchy. ("Do they outrank the one MCPO of the Navy or the SGM of the Army?")

    No offense intended.

Well I too like the new look, and all the funky new features.

But at my current rate of progress, it'll take me ten years to make Lieutenant

Ah well, since I'm just a cadet does that mean I get to live the student life? Stay up late and drink myself into a stupor??

No, it means you work all night and have to get up sooo early in the morning that you'll never have time for a decent breakfast.

And it means that you'd better listen very carefully when some grizzled old veteran speaks up, especialy if it's a Sergeant!

To Lancer you must listen, yesss, hmmm..

Stay up as late as you want and drink all you want, but the replicators around here only serve synthahol and if I catch you with any of my private stock of the green stuff, you're not just gonna wish you'd never been born, you're gonna wish the universe had never come into existence. Grrr.

Actually, being a nurse in the UK (well ok, a student nurse, albeit a final year one) I already live that life. Early mornings, unsavoury hours, no decent breakfast.....that sounds like my life.
