Thumbs up action/adventure sci-fi actors hang together?

    Has anyone else noticed this?

Case in point. Kevin Sorbo played on Hercules & Xena before moving to Andromeda. Sam Jenkins played "the hind", then a bit roll on Andromeda.

Lisa Ryder played in 2 episodes of Earth: Final Conflict before being cast with Sorbo.

BOTH women who played "The Sorceress" on Beastmaster (Dylan Bierk and Monica Scharre) also played on Andromeda.

Marjean Holden (also on Beastmaster ) also played on Babylon 5, Babylon Crusade, and even DS9!

Do action/adventure/sci-fi actors & actresses travel in circles?

Could Kevin Sorbo be the Kevin Bacon of Action/Adventure Sci-fi?

    You've forgotten a couple of other examples;

Micheal Biehn and Bill Paxton were both in Terminator and Aliens.

Lance Hendrickson, Bill Paxton and the actress who played Vasquez were in Near Dark and Aliens.

I think your theory might have some validity. Either that or the director/producers run in the same circles.

Oh, both Kevin and Sam (hopefully short for Samantha) not only hangs out ... they're married to each other. And recently have their first child.

Lisa Ryder played in 2 episodes of Earth: Final Conflict before being cast with Sorbo.
And before that she was on the Vampire-based series Forever Knight. (I hope I got the title right.)

Do action/adventure/sci-fi actors & actresses travel in circles?
No. It is usually because the casting people remember these actors and actresses that performs in a certain genre, a symptom of typecasting. But once in a while they get a breakout role, such as Kevin Sorbo guest-starred as a college professor with whom Dharma had an affair with on Dharma & Greg.
    Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

Dont forget that Lance Henrikson was also in Terminator. That The Terminator and Aliens were drected by James Cameron. And James Cameron also Directed the Abyss. Starring Micheal Beihn...

    OK, now to get freaky.

The 60's TV show, The Green Hornet featured a young Bruce Lee. Among the many bad guys there were two features, One played by David Carradine, and another chinese actor, who went on to play the Blind Monk in Kung Fu.

When the studio turned down Kung Fu as a vehicle for Bruce Lee, the studio suggested John Carradine, son of David. Small TV world.

Bruce Lee went on to star in Enter the Dragon, also starring John Saxon. John was a firm favourite of Rodenberry, often featuring in his 'post apocalyse' movies...

    Thats the 60's for you...

OK, so who else has shown up with the same groups of actors and crew between films and series of similar genre's???

Outside of the fully inbred Star Trek community that is... Lets face it if we started there, we would never finish...

You really don't want to get me started on this... Face-spotting is a minor hobby of mine

Pat Tallman - Lyta Alexander in Babylon 5 - also a mercenary in either ST:TNG's Starship Mine or Gambit (I think).

Bill Mumy - Leneir (B5), Starfleet soldier in Siege of AR558 (DS9), Will Robinson (Lost in Space).

Sarah Douglass - Deathwalker (B5), Female Romulan Commander (TNG).

Nicole DeBoer - Ezri (DS9), also in Deepwater Black and The Cube.

Jerry Doyle - Garibaldi (B5), Captain Simian (Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys).

Michael Dorn - (do I have to say? ), the bad guy (Captain Simian).

    Andreas Katsulas - Tomalak (TNG), G'Kar (B5).

Mark Alaimo - Dukat (DS9), assassin (Last Starfighter).

    I could go on forever...

Of course David Lynch's Dune is worth checking out for this kind of thing:

Kyle McLachlan - Paul -> Agent Cooper (Twin Peaks).

Patrick Stewart - Gurney Halleck -> it's on the tip of my tongue...

Brad Dourif - Piter de Vries -> assorted psychos in Voyager, B5 and the X-files.

Dean Stockwell - Dr Yueh -> Al (Quantum Leap).

And about half the cast of Twin Peaks...

Without going too near Mark Ailmos many and various other Trek roles...

Pat Tallman - was the stunt double Kira... Thus proving that Paramount didn't try to cripple B5...

Michael Dorn - Voiced the bad guy in a crappy sci-fi film, cant remember the name it was so bad... and dare I say. "I AM WEASEL)

and Brad Dourif, please add Alien Resurrection to the list.

And with the Aliens list, there Sigourney, also seen in both Ghostbusters and Galaxy Quest. Which Brings us to Tim Allen, aka Buzz Lightyear of Star Command...

You know, I had NEVER seen that. I also needed help recognising Jeffrey Combs as Brunt....

    More crossovers:
    * Famke Janssen and Patrick Steward in X-Men (a really good movie, by the way)
    * Gargoyles, with Marina Sirtis as Demona, Jonathan Frakes as Xanathos, Brent Spiner as a mischevous elf, Michael Dorn as Coldstone.
The darkness inside me is a lot scarier than the darkness out there....

Lexa Doig had small parts in TekWar and Earth: Final Conflict before she landed a starring role as Rommie in Andromeda.

There's an interview where she calls herself a nerd who likes playing D&D. I'd let her roll my dice anytime.

If you want to play that game, go to www.imdb.com and start cross-searching actor names... you can spend a few hours on it (I know what I'm talking about )

Terry Farrell (think I saw her sometimes in ST ) played in a recent SF movie, Deep Core.
