That would explain so much
"Captain, the Klingon outpost is approximately 3 days away at maximum warp."
"Uh, Commander, can you convert that to imperial for me? I never was any good at math...."![]()
Ahhhh, that's where it came from. I knew I'd heard it somewhere.Originally posted by SIR SIG
Well I believe the warp highway thread over yonder at the Daystrom Instuite www.DITL.org (???)
Goes on about multiple uses defining a path in space and thus making a more definate highway.
This could also tie in with the TNG ep with the Herkras Corridor (?) with instability to make warp because of warp traffic being very high.
Anyway, it makes a lot of sense. To me at least
I think it was Hekaras. But don't quote me.
And any of those Warp FAQ on the net go into it a bit more.
If you can't find any I can email you one.

What if the Klingon Empire has two homeworlds like the Romulans, Remus and Romulus. One could be for the "greasy" Klingons and another for the "Bumpy" Klingons. One of them, mainly the closest one, is destroyed before the Federation actually comes to life.
This would explain the ENT TREK reference that it took 4 days to get there, they just got to one the Federation never saw after in TOS and TNG.

Yeah but as this thread and others point out. You cannot take the basic warp chart for granted!
By my way of things this Qo'nos will be around 32 ly from Earth. WHich is still far to close but maybe a dual capital would cover that?
