What bout the Romulans? They may not be as you say the Feds "best buds", but still bleed for the FEderation in the War. Giving to some and not others would be more a cause of war then keeping the tech secret.

I note from my last post that I didn't deal with the Dominion weapons that were captured.

I personally don't think that the major powers would deploy any major Dominion systems for the moment. The equipment is quite alien and is based on a completely different tech base which means that they may be more difficult to maintain than they're worth. I can see the individual Shrouding Field come into use, at least by the Romulans, the Klingons are too macho to use something like that and the Feds, well maybe for special ops units and SI teams but no universal deployment.

I doubt anyone would adopt the polaron beams, the phaser seems more versatile and now that the allies have cracked the secret of polaron beams shield penetrators, they won't have any use for them.

The tech for detecting cloaked ships may make their way into Federation use but I foresee that the Romulans and Klingons with their own examples will improve their cloaking devices to defeat the new sensors. So the arms race continues.

Fell deed awake: fire and slaughter!
Spear shall be shaken, shields be splintered,
    a sword-day, a red-day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!

    Resource-less-Romulans

    If I recall,

The idea of the Romulans as the "poor boys" of the "Big Three" powers came from some of the old FASA source books.

If you look at the three FASA "Ship Recognition Manual" It shows the Rom's (once you get past there weapons) to have some pretty low powerd and low tech spacecraft.

I'm pretty sure part of the explanation for this was due to the fact that Romulan space had few recorces compaired to the Federation [and Klingons].

    On another note,

I see here that it has been said that the Federation,Romulans and Klingons ended up occuping parts of the Cardassian Union after the war....

anyone know what happen to the Breen ??

The DWS implies they got off more or less scot-free - if that's the case, they're a rogue power with all of the big three facing off against them. If not, given that (if I remember correctly) they lie between the Romulans and Klingons, I suspect that without Dominion support, whatever happened to them was very, very messy...
