Star Wars Episode 4 Special Edition 2

Just heard news that George "lost the plot completely" Lucas was apparantly "Not happy" with the special edition of Episode 4 : A New Hope, and is planning ANOTHER special edition for 2006.

The new edition will apparantly re-edit some of the scenes which didn't work (Greedo will no longer shoot first, Jabba scene in severe need of improvement), and also add a few more shots which Lucas wanted to add, but didn't have the technology to do.

All I gotta say is....THE CASH IS STRONG IN THIS ONE!! What kind of fool does he take us all for....I suppose he expects us to buy it again...in multiple formats.....Oh, I suppose I will anyway!!!

Feelings and thoughts everyone?? Plus, if any further info is gathered it would be muchos appreciatos!!

    News to me

theforce.net has nothing about it, which is probably the most reputable source of info about Star Wars (aside from starwars.com). Where'd you hear it from?

The only persistent rumor I've heard about Ep IV-VI additions is that the DVDs will have new footage to incorporate elements of the prequel trilogy - i.e. seeing some prequel characters on Alderaan before its destruction, etc.

Oh good. They show up just in time to have the poogees blasted out of them. Talk about bad timing.

    sounds good to me...

I'd be interested in seeing a third version of ANH. Why would Jabba let Han step on his tail?

IMHO, if George Lucas really wants people to buy this extra-special edition of A New Hope I suggest re-editing Carrie Fisher's scenes and change her outfit to the one seen in the posters...you know, the one with the cleavage, the slits up to the hips and the ballet slippers.
The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Seeing as though the DVD's for Ep 4 and above are romoured to not be released until after the current trilogy, it is likely that the new editions are all going to be for the DVDs as mentioned above.

I initially garnered the rumour from What DVD magazine (or was it DVD format....whatever) so this looks likely.

But anyway, why not use this thread to say what should be changed and why (and Jar Jar on Alderaan, saying "How wood!" as it blows up has already been bagsied!)

    Cheers for the input guys.

That would be the "Archive editions" that have been discussed on the web.

From what I have heard is that this will be the "final" release of the complete six-movie set on DVD. Apparently the rumor is that Lucas will film a whole bunch of extra footage during Ep. 3, to use in Ep 4 (using Bail Organa during the Alderaan destruction scene for instance).

I don't remember where I heard this - actually I do think this was on theforce.net somewhere, but I may be wrong.
I love deadlines - I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by

Here's hoping that Jar-Jar Binks is on Alderaan!

Actually, here's hoping he dies before or during the opening credits of Episode II!
