Talking Warp Speed Mr. Sulu, Activate Furnace Mr. Scott

Something I just had to share with someone...

I'm home folding laundry, watching the new Star Trek: The Motion Picture DVD. After Spock and Scotty repair the warp drive, the ship leaps into warp speed. At the exact same time, the furnace in my house, located in the basement roughly below the TV set, kicks on... At first I think - "hey, the warp drive sounds just like my furnace..."

I am dead. As of this moment, we are all dead. We go into battle to reclaim our lives. This we do gladly because we are Jem’Hadar. Remember, victory is life.

Set course maximum warp, engage! High Ho Enterprise away!

Had a similar thing happen a while back to my wife and I. We were sitting back one evening watching the latest ST movie when it first came out on video. The movie gets to the part where E-E is going to run to the rescue, Picard points his finger and commands "Engage!". I had one of those damn musical watches and cadet's honor the alarm on my watch kicked in that very instant with the lone ranger theme. I damn near pissed myself laughing.

I'm glad she was there as a witness because I figured nobody would ever believe my story in a million years.
