    Question Enterprise: Lithium or Dilithium

This is my first post, so hi everyone!

I was just flippin through some of my books, and the question that poped in my head is this. Are B&B going to stick to Lithium, or are they going to break cannon and switch to Dilithium. It was used up till SD (1312.4) according to the TOS episode Where No Man Has Gone Before, also in the episode Mudd's Women. Also its in the ST encyclopedia, the so called "bible"

Just a one of my many random thoughts

Welcome to the boards! I don't think we'll have an answer to your question until or if it comes up in an Enterprise episode.

Incidentally, I don't think the Encyclopedia can fairly be considered the bible for the Trek universe. It's supposed to be based solely on canon, but the writers do make a number of speculations and guesses (albeit well-educated ones). IMO, at any rate.

Probably dilithium. Although lithium would make for a happy crew...
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Lithium was changed to dilithium, and lasers to phasers, by GR ON PURPOSE because lasers and the properties of lithium were known, and he did't want real world science to invalidate his tech. We are supposed to assume that it was ALWAYS dilithium and phasers.
    Deo Vindice!
