We had a game 1 group played feds one Klingon. Klingon Mission, go into Fed space, harass the convoy's enough to draw ships on the picket line between the empire and the feds away. Klingon Force consited of 3 K'tinga Class ships upgraded to current standards, and 2 B'rel. (K'tinga had skeleton crews).
Fed Mission find and stop the mauraders, known ships operating in area 2 B'rel class ships.
(AT this point i need to say the Federation had lost 4 ships off the picket of 12 stationed.) Also the picket ships were all older series, Nebula being the most recent of those stationed Miranda being the oldest. (The 4 ships loast were 2 Miranda, 1 Soyuz, and an Oberth (which was providing most of the sensor data). The Oberth was a prioroty since it could see farther than any of the others.

For the 4th Season of DS9, while tensions ran high, but no actual war was declared, I developed a few adventure seeds.

The characters are part of an detail escorting a high-level diplomat and Cmdr. Will Riker to Cardassia Prime to negotiate the release several political prisoners, including Tom Riker. With the war against the Klingons, the diplomat argues, the Cardassians have enough to worry about than to take care of Federation citizens. Plus, to sweeten the deal, the Federation will cede some territory on the fringe of the DMZ that has valuable resources to the Cardassians. But someone among the delegation is a Maquis spy (aided by the Klingons) determined not to allow any more territory lost to the Cardassians. First, a member of the Federation envoy team is found murdered, then a bomb goes off, almost killing everyone, and at the same time, the labor camp on Lazon II where Tom Riker is being held, erupts in riot. The players must ensure the safety of the diplomat and Cmdr. Riker, assist them in keeping the negotiations alive and quelling the riot, all the while trying to weed out the Maquis spy and keeping themselves from becoming prisoners of Cardassia themselves.

The players are running escort duty for supply ships near the Klingon boarder involved with the construction of Starbase 462, a “super starbase” – the first of its kind. Bristling with the latest that R & D has produced, Starbase 462 will be a template for starbases to come. During the phase in its construction in which the starbase is most vulnerable, the characters are given a tour of the station. Then all hell breaks loose. Klingon forces take over the station and begin to make political demands. The characters play a game of cat and mouse with the invaders, until the truth is discovered. The political demands are a ruse.
The infamous Klingon mercenary, smuggler, and assassin “Taghron the Dishonorable” and his cadre of elite pirates have smuggled aboard, disguised as support crew, and begun raid the valuable base for all its new technogies. And time is running out – as Starfleet races to mount a rescue, real Imperial Klingon forces are heading towards the base to end Taghron’s dishonorable practices once and for all, even if it means destroying the station and everyone aboard.

The characters are involved with the negotiations of a Maquis/Cardassian cease-fire during the Klingon/Cardassian conflict. Called to a remote area on Dorvan V, the local Maquis claim that the Cardassians are testing new biogenic weapons. The Cardassians claim that the Maquis are smuggling Klingon cloaking devices. Though a little detective work they both prove to be right. Klingons are found in the company of the Maquis delegation, and traces of biogenic material are found in the hands of the Cardassians. But the double-cross comes when it is discovered that the biogenic material is Romulan in nature. During that revelation a Romulan Warbird decloaks, and a fierce battle ensues resulting in the Warbird, the Klingon Bird of Prey and the characters’ means of transportation all being mutually destroyed. Now they must somehow cross 50 miles of mountainous terrain to the closest settlement, not realizing that a vicious creature, a killing machine mutated by the biogenic material has begun to stalk them.

And then for good measure, I even have an adventure seed for after the Khitomer Accords are re-signed in the middle of the 5th season.

The characters are assigned duty to be official observers during a joint war games exercise between Starfleet and Klingon space forces. With the build-up of Dominion forces in Cardassian space, both Starfleet and the KDF believe it is a matter of time before war is inevitable. Two rival captains, who both lost a great deal during the from the recent Federation/Klingon War change the rules and decide to make the battle real - with the characters trapped on board the warring ships. The captains are enemies from a famous battle during the war and have deemed this their final grudge match. Both are determined to make it a battle to the death, even if it means going down with their ships, taking everyone on board with them. It's up to the team to defuse what could become an end to the alliance.

Gimmie another day, I could probably figure out some war-inspired adventure seeds for the early part of the 5th Season.

I Have to second that. WOW Alex! Those are some great ideas. As a twist for the war games Adventure, You could have a Founder insighting the trouble/or be one of the captains.

I just thought of a seed as i'm writing this. This would be End of 4th /Begining of 5th season. What if the player's ship is sent to difuse a situation on a planet colonized by both Klingons and the Federation in the sector that the Klingons dispute (Can't remember the name at the momment, it was the one Gowron mentioned in his decleration of hostilities durring the 4th season cliffhanger). The Empire also sends a ship to investigate. The players will be trying to negotiate a peace while the Klingons are hot for battle.

The place is Arkanis (not sure of spelling). I think LUG said it was originally a planet colonized by the Klingons under the Organian Treaty (whichever power can develop the planet best gets it), but later the Federation were allowed to move in. When Gowron started warmongering, he wanted the place back.

These sort of stories are great. I love the Klingons, and the alliance with the Federation makes for some terrific scenes as the proud warriors come to learn more respect for Starfleet and also show that no-one is more useful in a fight than a Klingon, but every so often it's nice to make them the bad guys again - then they can really learn to respect Starfleet when the PCs come in and whup their asses!!

    Picket line consisted of
    1 Nebula-class
    4 Miranda-class
1 Oberth-class (another was enroute to help with scaning the area)
    2 Soyuz-class
    2 Excelsior-class
    2 Constellation-class
