    The current ship:

    USS Pathfinder, NCC-82135... a Nova class surveyor assigned to the Typhon Sector.
    Just a small note for none navy types:

    I dropped the letter "A" from Starfleet surveyor type class; the letter "A" [in todays navies] signifies that the vessel is an auxiliary ship, and not a ship of the line. While not a ship of the line, Starfleet is mostly an exploration service. I don't think a survey ship in starfleet would be typed as auxiliary. Thus I would just use (F-GS) for surveyor ships [Just a thought.]
