Yes... I'm sorry for yet another post about the Enterprise theme song.
"Faith of the Heart" (current theme)
"Wherever You Will Go" (used in promos)
Neither of these
Yes... I'm sorry for yet another post about the Enterprise theme song.
"Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens."
-Gimli, son of Gloin (The Fellowship of the Ring)
I'm not vehemently against it, but I'd like to watch the same intro sequence with something similar to the theme from one of the other series, if for no other reason that comparison.
That having been said, I doubt B&B will ever do it.
This is not a petition to have B&B change the theme, since we all know that they never listen to what the fans think.

I like the theme, personally. However it would not have been my choice for the theme song. That would have been Scott Bakula's rendition of Imagine.
The first time I heard the theme, I couldn't stand it - I really liked the music from the commercials.
However, it really has grown on me a lot to the point I prefer the theme they are using.

I like it. I am willing to buy the singles if they release it. If they also included "Wherever You Will Go" to the CD singles, I'll snatch it up in a heartbeat.
It would be even sweeter if they also included Scott Bakula's acoustic guitar rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine" as a bonus (as it was performed in an episode of Quantum Leap).![]()
Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

That song they used in the promo is becoming a little popular. The Music Director for Smallvill's second episode used it at the last segment of the show.
Let's go!
-Capt Jonathan Archer-
It would have meant blowing the dust off an old tune, but there was a late 80's or 1990 ballad that I liked. I forget the singer's name at the moment, but the song was called "Heroes". The music video showcased the Blue Angels, but the words in the song could have easily fit space exploration.
"Faith Of The Heart" could have been a theme for Janeway and Voyager. ("I've got faith to believe I can do anything.")
As for the poll, I'm with the others on their choice.
"Exploration is not a choice, really; it's an imperative." -Lt. Col. Michael Collins, Apollo 11
The Enterprise theme just isn't...Stirring. It doesn't get you excited (it doesn't elicit any reaction really.)
Just as neutral (read boring) as the rest of the series.
I'm posting instead of voting because there would be a qualifier to my anwer. Between the two songs used, I much prefer the one from the promos (I know now it wasn't them, but I still swear it sounded like Creed!). However, given a little thought, I'm sure we could each come up with a different 'other' song we each think would have been perfect. I think the best thing, in any event, would be to maintain a slightly majestic sound, combined with a sense of awe, hope, wonder, and discovery. Perhaps one of the more eclectic classics from such as Vivaldi, Holst, Hovhaness, or Vangelis. Then again we could also say screw it and use Tenacious D!
I still like Creed... "With arms wide open" fits really well, and the reprise of "Higher" is also perfect. Go listen to either of them on the net and you'll see how much they remind you of the promos (only better).

"Faith of the Heart" is not a song that I'd nominate for "rock anthem" status by any means--but as I slowly pick up the lyrics from repeated hearings, I have to admit that they suit Enterprise as if they were written for the show.Originally posted by Dan Stack

Besides, nothing could surpass Roddenberry's lyrics for the TOS theme in the "liveliest awfulness" category.![]()

No, you mean it doesn't get you excited. It's stirring for me. I can't help but sing or hum the song. The Enterprise theme just isn't...Stirring. It doesn't get you excited (it doesn't elicit any reaction really.)
I tell you a secret. Whenever I want to go to sleep, I put on VOY theme.
If you want the whole lyric, I could give it to ya. As for nomination for "rock anthem" category, I'd go with Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA."
That would be nice, but the song "Higher" is already associated with a failed animated movie, Titan A.E. Still, they would have to pay Creed for the use of the song. They'd rather write their own and get paid when the single is released.I still like Creed... "With arms wide open" fits really well, and the reprise of "Higher" is also perfect.
