    Any tips on posting??

    A little off topic, but...

How do you guys manage to get your ship designs to fit within the posting limit of 10,000 characters.

I imported text for a design from Microsoft Wrd, and it exceeded 10,000 characters even WITHOUT any description/notes, etc. -- just the basic Spacedock stats... and it doesn't seem out of place, or to radically exceed the length of other designs i've sween here.

    Any suggestions????

I don't know about the others, but I avoid the problem by making a webpage with the stats and post the link. I use MSNTV which gives me free webpage space so this is no problem. It also has the advantage of letting me post graphics of the ship without getting the mods mad at me.

Some people split their design between two posts. The prefered cutoff is weapons data, this been sent in the second post along with the discription.

    Hope this helps

    Re: Splitting

I had been thinking about splitting it, at that very point as it happens... but wasn't sure if people preferred a single or split post.

I actually meant post part one, then reply to it.

My apologies if i did not explain this fully.

    Intresting design though.

One way I think would help with posting ships would be to develop ways to compress the ship displays: I've been looking over the Meteor class design I built as a "test case" to develop a more compact construction form. Basically, it would entail eliminating redundant information and contracting others to make it possible to post ships on a single page.
