Hence why I am planning out season 2 as much as possible, I know how to get into each episode and how to get out of each episode.

I find as I write up Season 1 I find I have to retro edit and stuff to make it all make sense. The chaos of the gaming table is not always the best narrative.

So with some planning and ground lay I may be able to inspire less insanity and still maintain a level of fun, if not increase it thanks to preparation

Or it could all blow up in my face

Kinda been in moderator-hibernation since Christmas (i.e. making sure no one posts naughty stuff but not to active otherwise)...

Ghosty, I'm glad the adventure went well and I'm honored you were able to use my Q speech.

Welcome back to active posting Dan.

It was a great line BTW, all the players loved it. Thanks, it was inspired. Now maybe you can help me think of a way out of the corner the PC manage to paint herself into.

Okay, lets say I do have her butt court martialled and sentenced to life imprisonment in a Federation penal colony. Now all I have to figure out how to get her out of jail...probably the "there's a Federation threatening threat coming our way and only you can save us..." scenario.

Or as an alternative, she gets kidnapped just before the trial by the Tal Shiar and is put on trial on Romulus for genocide where the charge carries the death penalty...its a diplomatic incident of epic proportions and may give me a chance to run my Romulan Crisis story arc that was put on hold last year due to another epic story arc.

    True...True.

I think court-martialing her is a hard-core choice and I wouldn't see her ever come back as a captain (at least not right away). But she could get brought out for a suicide missiion (like a trip to the Delta Quadrant to ascertain the fate of the borg)

You could stack her crew ala the Dirty Dozen

    Thomas Riker as her XO

    Ro at Tactical or Conn

    Hmmmm...

    I have a wacky idea

    Ohh my.

My prayers go out to the poor crew of the USS Lexington. May they allways be safe from wacky ideas.

BTW Zym, looking forward to reading the summary of what this wacky idea turned into on the Lex site.

Well it is less of an idea I would unleash on the Lady Lex, needs a dishonoured Captain to work first and foremost.

But imagine a dishonored Captain being offered a ship, full of misfit crew being sent deep intot he Delta Quadrant. Your mission is a simple one, learn as much as you can about the fate of the post-Endgame Borg.

    Good luck

Of course wacky adventures await in that case.

We tried the Dirty Dozen crew idea once years ago but it didn't pan out...

But what about the Romulan alternative? Any comments?

That's the beauty isn't it...with her ship and her crew, she can save the bloody Romulans from the bloody Borg...or at least do a good job of saving Romulan senators and such...but it all sounds very Kirk-like to me.

OTHO as I mentioned earlier, during the Infinite Realities story arc they see what would have happened if they did let the child survive so the PCs on hte ship will know that she probably did the right thing...only there is the genocide issue.

The alternative is that they return from the Infinite Realities story arc in orbit around the planet but no black holes, no Romulans, no alien tech nothing...Q has reset everything provided that the CO learns what Q wants to teach her during the Infinite Realities trip.

Talking What Lies Beyond the Event Horizon?

A black hole... Two Black Holes. I have images of the Battle of the Ebony Eyes from Star Frontiers...

It seems that this may not be an act of genocide. Perhaps the black holes destroy each other. It only takes a few seconds. But the event horizon is murder... Thousands of years pass. The galaxy has entered a dark age. The Federation is a distant memory. Heck, people wouldn't mind the Borg. When suddenly there appears a planet that shouldn't exist, propelled into the future by being too close to the event horizon (actually, a few seconds pass on the planet, a few thousand outside).

This child will lead a rebirth of civilzation, a new Federation.

"Your concept of time is so narrow-minded my dear captain. Save the galaxy, defeat the Romulan Star Empire... Without this child, the Empire did fall, in the blink of an eye, at least how a Q views time. Though it seems your species were primates in that time as well. But to save civilzation... Ah, the wonderful arrogance to believe that the Federation is the only civilization worthy of saving... I did not mean your tiny corner of your tiny galaxy. I meant the whole galaxy, and a few more. Let me show you, my dear capitan, for I see you are so confused..."

Perhaps the crew can have an adventure in this future...

Hmmmmm....post a link for the Romulan Crisis.

I like the idea though of them going rogue, heading out and saving the Romulans and then Starfleet has to give them the big pardon
