I am still having problems with the episodes when I use the banner to your site. If I put in the address directly then I don't, usually have a problem. However, when I first started using the address to view them, after I had finished then I could use your links, but today I couldn't.

If you can understand my ramblings.

If not let me know and I will try to clarify.

    Weirdness

I have tested it on my Mac at home and on the PCs at work and no problems.

    I am at a loss.

    Could it be the Browsers?

When I was using Netscape Navigator, it worked fine. Since I switched to Internet Explorer, I've been having problems.
    Arise, arise, Riders of Theoden!
Fell deed awake: fire and slaughter!
Spear shall be shaken, shields be splintered,
    a sword-day, a red-day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!

    Jago's Gambit
    Production ST:LEX 111
    Stardate: 55481.09

    Cast of Characters
    Captain Murreal Lindsay
    Lieutenant Jago Vlasdric
Master Chief Warrant Officer Sam Mitchell
    Drace Vlasdric

    Synopsis
Jago's brother interrupts her vacation with Klingons and Nausicaans hot on his tail and an ancient artifact in his posession.

    Summary
The episode starts with a shot of a hotel room on Bajor. The door gets kicked in and two Klingon warriors enter and begin to tear the place apart. As they tear about the room, one of them hears a noise from the bathroom. Bursting in he sees that the window is open. A quick bark to the other and the two rush out. After they are gone we see a closet door open and a man (we cannot see his face) steps out holding two things in his hands. One of an ornate box of alien design and the other is a civilian PADD. As we see what is on the PADD, it is revealed to be the service record of Lieutenant Commander Jago Vlasdric.

From there we cut to Chief Sam Mitchell and Jago having lunch at a terraced restaurant on Bajor. The dizzying exchange of verbal jabs and ripostes are too involved to revisit here. It is obvious from the conversation that the two have decided to take some shore leave time together and see Bajor. As it seems they are about to broach a much deeper topic, Jago's brother Drace shows with a roguish grin. Claiming to be seeking the long lost company of his sister the younger Boslic has a seat at their table. Jago isn't fooled for a minute. Sam courteously takes his leave to give the siblings some privacy, but brief words between the two men fosters an immediate mutual dislike.

Drace tells his sister about how his dealings in the Klingon Empire have gone sour and about bit about his flight from Klingon space. Jago worries out loud that her brother may have gotten himself into serious trouble. He assures here with a broad smile that he has the situation under control.

As Sam is leaving the restaurant the two Klingons from the hotel arrive and begin harassing the staff, asking loudly about a male Boslic. Doubling back quickly, Sam warns the Vlasdrics just as the Klingons open fire on them. Throwing up a table for cover Sam contacts DS9 and has the three of them beamed to safety.

Arriving on the station they are greeted by Colonel Kira Nerys, Commander Elias Vaughn and Constable Ro Laren. Vaughn informs them that DS9’s sensors detected an odd power emanation coming from Drace’s package, an ornate box of alien design.

At first Drace tries to pass of the object as a simple curiosity and nothing more, but Jago’s stern look cracks him and hell tells, what he claims, is the true story.

Drace explains while he had been hiding out in the Klingon Empire, while their family dealt with certain debts to certain Orion Syndicates, he heard about a dig by an Andorian archeologist on Coril V, excavating Al’nathi ruins.

Figuring he would pose as a worker, rob some trinkets and get some cash to get home, Drace went to work for the dig team. There he met a human female named Vash. She told him about something called “The Klingon Gambit Stone”. This rare and ancient artifact was priceless and she suggested how they could sell it for a lot of money and never have to work again. All they would have to do is steal it. Drace agreed and began plotting to double cross her.

When Jago asks what the stone is, Drace explains that the legend says during their darkest hour, the Al’nathis had nearly destroyed their planet with industry. Then a "war of fire from the sky" seemed to doom them until one Al’nathi named Kolloric came down from the mountains with the stone. With the stone he was able to provide food, shelter and every other necessity for his people. The Al’nathi entered a millennia of golden grace. Then the Klingons came.

House Sulitan, a major house at the time, attempted to conquer the Al’nathi but were driven back time and time again. The story says their ships simply vanished from space without so much as a shot being fired. Learning that the Al’nathi had a secret weapon there, Sulitan gathered as many favours and ships as he could and promised to bring this weapon to the empire. Setting out with one of the largest fleets ever assembled, he arrived at the Al’nathi homeworld. Victory was not to be his as there was no one left on Al’nathi and their civilization was gone. His gambit failed.

Ruined, House Sulitan became the lowest house in the Empire. To this day their warriors work as mercenaries and the House rents grounds on House Drexxa's home world, which used to be theirs.

The stone vanished from history like the Al’nathi, until Threllvon discovered Al’nathi ruins on Coril V. From what he was able to decipher, the Al’nathi were teleported far away from the fleet and began anew. But over time, with no sickness or death, the planet became crowded to the extreme. A young leader named Holish, tired of the excess population and crowding, used the power of the stone to wish to be alone.

His wish was granted. All his people disappeared. Not one single Al’nathi, save himself, remained. It was as if they all had simply been wiped from the face of the universe. Blaming the stone he sealed it in a box and then wished a volcano to erupt over the city. Doing so buried the stone and killed the last remaining Al’nathi.

When Threllvon found the stone, Vash and Drace stole it and set off. Then the double crossing began in earnest. Drace contacted a member of House Sulitan and promised to deliver the stone for 1 million bars of latinum. Vash it turns out was working for a private collector and intended to sell the stone for her own gain. She tried to seduce Drace and drug his drink, but he had already managed to drug the air (with a drug that has no effect on Boslics) in the room and knocked her out first. He then booked passage on a freetrader and headed for DS9.

Ro takes the box with the stone in it and places it in her wall vault for safe keeping, despite Drace’s objections. Drace explains that he needs to stone for the deal. But despite his pleas, Ro informs him that he is lucky she doesn’t hold him on grounds of theft. Almost on cue, the freetrader Drace had taken passage out of Klingon space on blows up in the DS9 docking collar. As red alert sounds from Ops, the officers rush to see what is up. Drace uses this moment to slip out.

At Ops the gang learns that a Klingon battle cruiser has decloaked and had fired on the docked ship destroying it. On screen comes Commander Magh, of House Drexxa. He demands that the station hand over the stone, since it is property of his house and theirs by right. Commander Vaughn and Colonel Kira seem unimpressed and unwilling to give in. Magh warns them that if they will not hand it over he will take it by force.

Commander Vaughn alerts everyone to the fact that the exploding freetrader has damaged major computer systems, including DS9’s defenses. They are sitting ducks.
Magh’s cruiser comes around for an attack run, but as she closes, the USS Farscape drops out of warp and peppers the Klingons with phaser fire. Unwilling to push the fight Magh stands down but insists that the stone be handed over. Captain Murreal Lindsay beams over to DS9 and is happy to see her old crewmates Sam and Jago. They bring her up to speed on the events and she offers to lend a helping hand.

    "Jago's Gambit" Continues...

At this point Drace is sneaking around DS9 trying to figure out how to get the stone back and save his own skin, when he almost stumbles across Vash and three burly Nausicaans. The goons rough Drace up a bit as Vash watches. When they are done she gets the story out of him as to the whereabouts of the stone. Vash, with the not so subtle threat of Nausicaans on her side, tells Drace that he will break into the security centre and steal the stone back. He will then deliver it to her and she will let him go about his business. Drace, not seeing any immediate way out, agrees.

With no intention of doing as she asks, Drace makes a break for it and heads onto the Defiant. Working the computer fast, he manages to gain control of her systems.

At Ops, the Defiant power up is detected. As the others try to contact the ship, chief Mitchell quickly beams himself onboard moments before the shields snap up. Drace attempts to quick talk his way out while fumbling for his stunner but Sam cold-cocks him with a right.

Now that DS9 is undoubtedly involved, Colonel Kira takes control of the situation and declares that Bajor will decide who will get the Gambit Stone. The Klingons, Vash and her Nausicaan mercenaries and a Starfleet contingency representing Drace Vlasdric, led by Captain Lindsay and Jago convene the hearing. Using Bajoran law the Klingons begin to complain of an dishonorable advantage b y their adversaries. This leads Drace to make some disparaging remarks about the Klingons mothers. Order falls apart and huge fight breaks out.

Mitchell (who has become entranced by the mystery of the Gambit Stone) runs off to where the Stone is held "to make sure it's safe". Drace follows closely behind him. Reaching the brig, Mitchell tell Ro that there is a serious disturbance at the hearing. She immediately takes her officers to quell the riot. With her out of the way Sam quickly bypasses the security system and goes for the case with the stone. Sneaking up behind him with a pipe, Drace tries to even the earlier insult, but Sam still manages to knock him down. Jago and Lindsay run in to stop the fight. As Sam and Drace struggle with the case, it falls open and the stone rolls into the corner.

Before anyone is able to grab it, Kira, Ro and the other complainants show up. Kira’s Bajoran religious background helps her to understand the temptation of the stone will affect anyone who holds. Despite the demands of the others, Jago suggests that they use the power of the stone to send it away. There is much wailing and gnashing of teeth. A quick discussion allows Jago and Lindsay to decide that Mitchell should be the one to wish the stone away. At first Sam refuses the “honor”, but a bit of prodding by Jago convinces him,

As he takes the Stone, his head is filled with the wondrous possibilities he can accomplish. He thinks of Allanah’s dead mother and how easy it would be to bring her back. The power is overwhelming him and temptation is knocking. Just then he begins thinking about omnipotent power and his reality alteration experiences with Q aboard the Farscape. With out realizing what he is doing he mental wishes he never see Q again.

With a flash of light Q appears in the security centre. Everyone holds their breath for a moment. Q looks at the stone in Sam’s hand and says "So THAT was where we lost it. We've been looking for this for AGES." Q plucks the Stone from Mitchell's hand and declares the wish come true. Sam Mitchell will never see Q again.

With the stone gone, Vash and her Nausicaans take their leave of the others. Ro places the Klingons under arrest for murdering the crew of the freetrader and Captain Lindsay wishes Sam and Jago well. She heads back to the Farscape to help corral the rest of the Klingon crew.

Having no charges that she can make stick on him, Ro reluctantly lets Drace go free, but warns him never to return to DS9 again. Drace proclaims to have had his fill of Bajorans and heads out, followed by his sister. She tells him that she has taken care of the family problems and he can head home. He says he might do that and then immediately begins talking about some other scam he has cooking. Realizing he will never change, Jago gives her brother a hug goodbye and then tries to salvage the last few days of her shore leave with the Chief

    Narrator's Notes
Run as a pick up game one night, Jago's gambit is one of my favs of the first season. Drace was played to perfection by my friend LC and the story was a heavy modification of the Klingon Gambit stone from the book of the same name.

Originally April played her Elig character in this story, but since she didn't do much that would change to outcome and I sort of hamhanded her in, I have decided for the purposes of this write up to use her other character Captain Lindsay. In hindsight it would have been the smart thing to do at the game as well.

    Live and learn.

By this point I was getting a handle of the game a bit better and trying to balance out the focus on each player, but a session dedicated to one player and her life was kinda fun too.

Robin, Chief Mitchell's player also requested that an adventure be run that gave him the spotlight for a change. I smiled at the time and began planing that one, making sure it would be one to remember. But that adventure was still a few off. I had some loose ends to deal with and some subplots that needed tending.

    Stay tuned...

    Fal Tor Pan
    Production ST:LEX 112
    Stardate: 55504.13

    Cast of Characters
    Lieutenant Commander Rahne Elig
    Lieutenant Commander Deidhsuil Urram
    Lieutenant Jago Vlasdric
Master Chief Warrant Officer Sam Mitchell

    Synopsis
When a Starfleet Intelligence officer offers Vlasdric a chance to save a fallen comrade, she is sucked into a world of Vulcan mysticism and treachery.

    Summary
As the episode opens we find Jago Vlasdric beaming onto the front steps of the Federation Institute for Paranormal Aptitude (FIPA). She is greeted by three members of the Institute who begin to show her around. As they explain that the FIPA is designed to help those with psionic powers learn to control those abilities, Jago notices there is quite a rush of activity around the compound. As she is about to ask what is going on, a squad of Starfleet security officers beam in, bringing with them medical stasis tube. She only gets a quick glance, but she sees in it the unconscious form of her former counselor and Section 31 operative Kestra Tamel.

Questioning the tour guides a bit more, and also revealing her involvement with the whole Kestra Tamel debacle, they reveal to her that she is suffering a total mental breakdown. Jago feigns tiredness and heads to her room, but wonders if the break down is because of what she did to Tamel (see Episode 106 – Mindfield for more details).

Sneaking away she finds her progress to seeing Tamel frustrated by the security team, so she ducks into a nearby room and settles in for an experiment. Steeling herself Jago reaches out with her mind and makes contact with Tamel’s. Inside is a raging storm of chaos and though she can only stay connected for moments, she realizes that there are two minds inside the Betazoid, her own and that of Lieutenant T’Cel.

Confused as to what to do, Jago uses the FIPA’s computers to learn everything she can about Vulcans and their psionic natures. She comes across the concept of the Katra, the Vulcan living soul. Wondering if this is what she has come across, she is startled by a buzz at her door.

Calling to enter, in walks a Vulcan woman in a Starfleet command uniform with the rank of Commander. She introduces herself as Saavik and asks Jago to take a walk with her. As they walk and talk Saavik reveals that she works for Starfleet Intelligence and has been brought in to consult on the Kestra Tamel case.

Through careful prodding and questioning both sides reveal more than they wish and soon the Katra situation is in the open. Saavik ponders this for a moment and then proposes a bargain. One of her unresolved cases involves a Section 31 operative named Valeris. Saavik proposes that if Jago would help her capture the rogue Starfleet officer, she cold assist T’Cel in being liberated and possibly even brought back to life through something called “Fal Tor Pan”.

Saavik leaves Jago to ponder and Vlasdric wastes no time looking up “Fal Tor Pan”, AKA“The Rejoining”. She learns that this mystic and ancient Vulcan action has only been recorded twice, and once in only in legend. The second one being involving Ambassador Spock a century earlier. Not at all to her surprise Jago learns that Saavik was present for that event.

When she and Saavik next speak, Jago says she is possibly interested but wants to know what is needed. Saavik reveals that she herself can perform the ritual, but she will require two psionics for power, Jago being one, Tamel who houses the Katra and a transporter replicated clone of T’Cel. If Jago can assemble these things and find another psionic of considerable power, Saavik has access to a Vulcan temple on Earth in the Gobi desert.

Jago agrees to see if she can pull it off. Saavik tells her one extra thing, that Tamel will be transported back to the penal facility in the Andes within the hour, so she will have to break her out of there. Jago sighs and nods, accepting her fate.

Beaming up to the still under refit Lexington, Jago first searches out Elig and reveals the whole plan to the Tactical officer. Elig, willing to do about anything to help T’Cel, agrees to the plan and offers to help her break Tamel out. As for the transporter clone, they both agree only Chief Mitchell can be trusted with this action.

After explaining to him what their plan is, Mitchell agrees that it can be done, but he would need her medical file from Starfleet Medical as the Lexington’s transporter buffers have been cleaned during the refit. With no record of T’Cel’s DNA in their computers they will be unable to proceed without the files. Jago has an idea of how she can get them and tells Mitchell to prepare everything he can without them and she and Elig will return with the files.

From the Jago and Elig beam down to the Hawaiian beach side estate of one Commander Joseph Reese, Starfleet Intelligence. They are greeted by his daughter and their crewmate Cheryl Reese, who takes them around to meet with her father. While they have refreshments, Joseph listens only for a few moments and then asks Cheryl to show Elig around the estate while he and Jago talk.

Once the other two are gone Joseph gets most of the plan out of Jago, but she does leave out some details. He informs her that Saavik is not on a sanctioned mission in her efforts to capture Valeris. He explains how Valeris had betrayed their mentor Spock a century before and how when Section 31 broke Valeris out of prison Saavik began a vendetta to recapture her.

Reese then goes on to explain why he needs Jago to back off of her hatred of Section 31. He lays out how the intelligence community works and how sometimes he needs Section 31 do to things his regular intelligence personnel can’t. Jago holds her tongue as it is spelled out to her, but her dislike of Section 31 is not abated.

As Elig and Cheryl return from the tour, Reese Sr. promises to have the medical files Jago needs sent to the Lexington post haste. Jago thanks him and heads out, but not before he reminds her that he has just done her a favour. She nods, knowing what he means.

    "Fal Tor Pan" continues...

Back on Lexington, Chief Mitchell informs the ladies that he has received the medical files and that he will need to enlist the help of his daughter, who is also the Chief Transporter Officer to create the transporter clone. Jago acquiesces but is becoming disturbed by how many people are getting involved.

Once Sagan-Mitchell hears the plan she calmly reminds them that they will need a stasis tube for the clone, otherwise it will die from shock and be of no use to them. This frustrates Jago more as she realizes that she now needs to get one more person involved, not to mention her need to find yet another psionic.

She heads to sickbay and begins to coyly beat around the bush with Dr. Pritchard, but he smells something is up and makes her cut through the BS. Once she explains everything to him he says nothing, gets up and asks Nurse Calloway to prepare a stasis tube and bring it to the transporter room.

Meanwhile Elig and Chief Mitchell have isolated the penal facility that Tamel is being held at, but are unable to beam through the powerful shields that surround it. Thinking for a moment they decide to have Jago hack into the power computers for the mountain facility and shut them down. This will give them a window of only 2 seconds to lock on and beam out the Betazoid, but it is the best they can do. Jago, her head filled with visions of her career going down the drain, agrees.

Setting herself up in front of a terminal Jago sets to her task and soon enough has the power system off-line. As soon as the window opens, Chief Sagan-Mitchell beams Tamel, stasis tube and all onto the Lexington. With almost all the pieces in place, Jago and Elig leave the engineers and medical staff to create the transporter clone while they seek out another psionic.

Pouring over Starfleet records and FIPA records, Jago learns about Lieutenant Commander Deidhsuil Urram, Chief Counselor of the now destroyed USS Exeter. The FIPA lists her as being on par with Jago as to power level and her training is leaps and bounds ahead since she is Betazoid and has trained since childhood. At first hesitant to work with another Betazoid, they decide to test the waters.

Beaming down to Earth, they find Urram at her fiancée’s Montana horse ranch. After some refreshments and small talk about the battle against the Borg (see Episode 110 – Endgame Redux, Part 2 for more details) Jago broaches the topic. Urram listens and reveals that she knew Tamel from the Academy. She also professes a dislike of the whole Section 31 affair and agrees to help, though she isn’t sure how she can. The three women beam back to the Lexington to find that the team there has successfully created and placed in stasis a transporter clone of T’Cel.

With all their ducks in a row, Jago contacts Saavik who gives her the coordinates of the Vulcan temple in the Gobi. With that Elig, Jago, Deidhsuil and Sam beam down with the two stasis tubes. Pritchard, Calloway and Sagan-Mitchell remain on stand by on the Lexington if needed.

The temple itself is a marvel of Vulcan architecture and is almost two centuries old. Greeted by bald Vulcan monks who say nothing, they and the stasis tubes are brought inside. There Saavik has set up an alter for the event. She explains that she will use the power of Deidhsuil and Jago to perform the ritual while she will act as the focusing lens of that power. She warns that things could go wrong, so they two women will have to clear their minds of emotion and doubt.

With a clang of a gong the ritual begins. For what seems like hours Jago and Deidhsuil remain mind-melded with Saavik while she struggles and moans through the ritual. All around are Vulcan monks who chant and murmur in ancient Vulcan. Their voices rise and fall in time with Saavik’s moans and struggles. Then T’Cel sits up taking in breath.

Quickly the monks move to the women and catch Saavik before she collapses on the floor. It seems the ritual has been a success and T’Cel is restored. With that said Saavik then turns to Jago and croaks that she has held up her end of the deal and that she needs Jago to no fulfill her part. On the balcony above Vulcan monks begin pulling off robes, revealing Starfleet security officers.

From outside more pour in and eventually they are joined by Commander Joseph Reese who takes Saavik into custody for running an unauthorized operation. Jago demands to know how he knew where they were, and he just smiles and tells her that she and Elig have a nano-transponder in their digestive track from the refreshments they had at his house.

Jago holds out her hands, expecting to be arrested. Joseph laughs and tells her than if he wanted to arrest her he would have done it before Saavik completed the ritual. Instead he let it be done and now T’Cel is alive and Tamel can be tried for her crimes. Jago and her friends are free to go, but he then points out to Jago that he has done her another favour.

Grumbling as she is now two in debt to him, Jago, Elig, Deidhsuil, Sam and the reborn T’Cel all beam back to the Lexington. Elig asks Jago what it means that Reese has done Vlasdric two favours. Jago just smiles weakly and surmises that someday, sooner rather than later, he will ask her for a favour or two of his own.

    Narrator's Notes
Again I must start this one off by explaining that this is cobbled together from my own spotty memory and then edited for flow. While the events happened as such, they may not be exactly accurate to the minuet details. Still it is %90 accurate to be sure.
When I first knocked off T'Cel in Mindfield I wasn't sure if I was going to run this story or not. Then as time went by I decided it was suitably "Star Trek" enough to warrant running.

For a second time in a row Jago took centre stage, and certainly she did an excellent job with the spotlight. The move, countermove, counter-counter-move game she was in with Section 31 and Starfleet Intelligence had taken a new level with the completion of this adventure.

For the other players, well Elig and Deidhsuil are played by the same player so it was a bit of work for her, but she did a great job. And poor Chief Mitchell, I was wondering if there was anything Jago could ask him to do that would make him say "no". Not yet thus far. But that said the good chief still had his day on the horizon, but not just yet.

First the crew had to be together for a big adventure involving an old TNG enemy.
