I'm wondering, does anyone know whether GURPS Prime Directive is available, the Amarillo Design Bureau website says Oct 2001 but their own store doesn't list it as avaiable...

Arise, arise, Riders of Theoden!
Fell deed awake: fire and slaughter!
Spear shall be shaken, shields be splintered,
a sword-day, a red-day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!
Theoden King: The Return of the King
Thanks for the info.
Dissapointed with hte delayed release of GURPS Prime Directive. I asked only because the lastest issue of Game Trader magazine lists GURPS Klingons for a March release.
But I guess Amarillo is more concerned with its mainstream Starfleet Battles game than subsidiary material. Much like Decipher...at least Amarillo lists GURPS PD in their website.

Well yes, ADB is very concerned with Star Fleet Battles. But realize that even for that line there were only a handful of releases this year. They just don't have the resources that Steve Jackson Games has or LUG had.
Anybody got the website addy? I'd like to have a look, and couldn't find it on the search engines. Probably jsut me mucking up with my typing (like when I tried to type the word "just" a moment ago!)

Steve Cole (ADB) gave the following information about the delays:
"SJ review delay: Basically, they're not making any progress on what they have, and I've been too busy (with W, CL23, ISC, State Guard, mother in law's broken wrist, father's crushed spinal disk, my own illness) to work on the parts not sent to them yet."
"SJG had money problems and laid off about 10% of their staff. What's left is hardly a skeleton."
Further posts on the discussion board seemed to indicate that SJ finished their review, and things were progressing (I think).

Whoa...SJG is in trouble? Never would have guessed it the way they are punching out GURPS supplements, Ogre related material and at least three card games (which are adorably hilarious and put ALL CCGs to shame).

I don't know. Personally I thought it was a good idea. Why risk your CO/XO, Science Officer, CMO and security chief on landing parties when you can train an equip a specialised landing party who are equal to the job. Anybody?
When you think about it wasn't Elite Force just a Prime Team redux...all you have to do is repackage it in a TNG uniform and voila...instant fan approval.

Agreed and in an RPG sense it makes even more sense, since most times in Star Trek the trap of Captain does everything happens.
This way a whole team is needed to do the job...
It was what i used to get players who didn't want to play Star Trek play for a whole year in Vancouver. They still play to this day, but won't play Star Trek regular at all.
You also have to remember that in the SFB universe, things are not as rosy as they are in Trek. Its a more militaristic universe dominated by a decade long war with all the galactic powers involved.
The Klingons and Romulans are more hostile and dangerous and don't forget there are other races out there including the Lyrans, the Kzin, the Gorn, the Tholians and the ISC and lets not forget the Andromedans who make the Borg seem pretty pansy at times
So realistically, better to have a specialised landing party to do the work on the planet leaving the Captain with his full command crew in case they are needed for combat.

Just because they're punching out more supplements doesn't mean they're flying off the store shelves.Whoa...SJG is in trouble? Never would have guessed it the way they are punching out GURPS supplements,
BTW, I believe some time ago, they increased the price of their worldbook supplements to about $23.
"10% of their staff." Is that like they fired one person out of a in-house staff of 10? After all, the company uses freelancers most of the time, right? I hope it's not Steve Jackson himself.
Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...
