    New ship class (Want opinions)

    Hello everyone,

I have been working on specs for a new class of ship and I'm wondering if anyone would like to see what I've come up with. Also does anyone have the specs for the Defiant Pathfinder? Any help is appreciated

New ship design? That is indeedy what this forum is for.

I take it from your request for the Defiant that you don't have the DS9 Corebook?

I believe that the Pathfinder is in the Computer Core on the trekRPG.net main site.

I have created one just not in the form commonly held for RPG's I will post it here shortly. I need the specs for the Defiant Pathfinder in its true warship form.

Unfortunately they are too long to be posted. Perhaps I should send them to the other people interested.

The Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-G is the 8th Federation vessel to bear the famous name brought forth from the early 23rd Century. The Enterprise - G is the first starship of her class and was designed by Commodore William Teagarden in the mid 2400's while at Earth Outpost Utopia Planetia. While originally placed on the backburner the Enterprise concept was rushed into active duty when the USS Roswell engaged the first Hadra'Kal cruiser in late 2405. While in battle the Roswell, a Sovereign Class Starship, was quickly disabled and soon after destroyed. Since the Sovereign was the closest thing to a Warship that Starfleet had and designed with multiple security programs that were rapidly neutralized Starfleet brought the Enterprise proposal back to full blast. The keel for the Enterprise was laid down almost one week later by the orders of Commodore Teagarden.

During the initial construction the Enterprise project was the target of several campaigns. In 2406 a Klingon Rebel with ties to the Duras Family tried to, and succeeded, in murdering the yard engineer. After an intense investigation the Rebel Soldier was captured and tried in a Federation Court. Shortly thereafter a Romulan Warbird managed to avoid detection by the Tachyon Detection Grid and attaked San Francisco Yard
. Starfleet Command managed to destroy the Warbird, but the port the Enterprise was in was damaged and forced to be repaired. Starfleet didn't have any other problems with the Enterprise's construction until September 24, 2409 when an Antimatter Charge was placed aboard the Enterprise, luckily it was discovered in time but Command is uncertain of who may of placed the Charge aboard. Luckily Starfleet did not have any other problems and the Enterprise was launched, as scheduled, on March 8, 2410 under the command of Commodore William Teagarden.

Her first mission was a rocky one. Under the orders of Starfleet Admiral Kathryn Janeway the Enterprise left Spacedock and proceeded to Outpost DS9 for final crew pickup. While at the Station the Enterprise was visited by several intruders and almost impacted by an out of control Shuttlecraft. Both incidents were taken care of and the Enterprise left DS9 for the Badlands. While there the Enterprise was sent 3 years into the future and is currently trapped in this time period. At the moment she will remain here and aid the damaged Federation in its quest to survive.

NOTE: These Specifications have been updated and represent the Enterprise in her current state.

It is the year 2413, on the eve of the celebration of the new year the Federation’s greatest enemy began a deadly attack at the very heart of our space. Systematically they attacked our people’s, the Vulcans, the Andorians, the Tellarites, the Deltans, and so forth. In an emergency meeting of the Federation Council Starfleet declared a state of war, selecting the best crew to serve on the Federation Flagship. You were someone they chose.

These are the Voyages of the Starship Enterprise...

Her mission of Exploration has changed and now its up to an intrepid crew to save the Federation.

    New Ship...

    A New Crew...

    New Races...

    New Technology...

Are you ready to take the CONN?

I'm afraid I've got to give a very negative review of this ship design.

Not only have you not bothered to post it in the ICONTrek format (this is an ICON system forum), but quite frankly it's a textbook example of the egregious excess common to ships seen on the Web. It's a powergamer's wetdream. It's got more weapons than you can shake a bet'leH at, and it's got every advanced technology ever seen on Trek along with a bunch ripped off from other genres from Japanese animation to Honor Harrington.

Stylistically, it's all over the place - bits of FASA style mixed in with Mastercom Data Center terminology spiced up with Jackill's "every piece of equipment has a Class name" - does the ship have Crapper Class toilets?

In this particular case I will have to agree with Owen's assessment

It's a powergamer's ship. If this is what the good guys have got. Then what the hell do the bad guys have?

And I thought Styro's USS Gambler was pushing the limit

Sure it might be 2413 but tone down the tech a bit. How about a handful of the really cool tech instead of all of it.

With a bit of work this could become a good ship. But as it currently stands I cannot see any roleplaying potenial in such a Megapowerful vessel.

Actually the race against them is more powerful in this timeline. The ROmulans allied themselves with a more powerful race and as a result their ships were equipped with newer tech that even combatted the new armor from Endgame.
