    At least one of Menudo is still avoiding duty at Denny's - Ricky Martin. On the other tentacle, at least two of the New Kids have become actors - Mark Wahlberg is an adequate actor with a decent list of movie credits, and his brother Donny was really good as one of the main characters in Band Of Brothers.

    In fact, a lot of singers turn out to be decent actors, as there's a big overlap in the skill set. Some examples: Frank Sinatra, Ronny Cox (Capt. Jellico), Madonna, James Darren, Nichelle Nichols...

    I don't have a problem with celebs doing cameos, and before we get on our high horses about it, let's remember that Star Trek, The Next Generation had a very high level of celebrity cameos and guest shots - remember Mick Fleetwood in the fish suit, or Dr. Mae Jemison, or James Worthy as a very frightened looking Klingon?

    Good point, Owen. And to beat my M*A*S*H* horse further to death, there was David Ogden Steirs who played a very NON-arrogant scientist (a bit different from his Winchester persona).

    I hardly recognize Mick Fleetwood (which is a good thing), Dr. Mae Jamison is a real-life astronaut, and Worthy makes a ... "worthy" Klingon of his stature.

    Anyway, whats wrong with Willow? Other than its a sawn off Star Wars in a Fantasy setting?

    Ronny Cox was a singer??? Thats a new one on me. First time I became aware of his work was when he pulled a turn as bad guy in Robocop.

    On this note, notice how Swing, Pop and Rap singers can usually turn into decent actors, and yet Rock Singers/band Members just seem to pull dire performances...

    O.K., this is a bit more sophisticated, but I still don't think you should be typecasting poor Hugo Weaving. No-one made jokes about Dr. Xavier calling Scott 'number one' and Logan 'worf', or about Gandalf calling Saruman 'Charles'.

    My understanding was that they would save the day by playing their music, which so annoys one of the Sith Lords that he dies of a stroke. That's the thing about really bad music; it has the potential to destroy whole civilizations, or, more rarely, to save them through the Force of Cosmic Irony.
