Regarding the Icarus name... That was the name of the ship we used back in our TNG-game - she was a Galaxy-class vessel. I was trying to think of a name that would never appear on any of the tv shows. I like Babylon 5 and was betting that Paramount wouldn't use a name so associated with Babylon 5 (so far I've been right - I wonder if there will ever be an Enterprise in the B5 universe...)

Though I do have suspicions as to how most ships named Icarus meet their end...

"Captain, your orders are to take the Icarus to the outer corona of the star, for routine research. Don't worry, it's perfectly safe..."
