    MS Publisher to PDF

Can you convert publisher to PDF somehow?

    If so, please tell.

If you have Adobe Acrobat. If your PC don't have one installed, you may have to buy the full version for $250. Check stores like CompUSA for discounted price.

I think there is an online service that let you convert any document into PDF.

Otherwise, find someone who will do it for you.

Have you written to or contact Adobe's technical support? I didn't know it cannot convert MS Publisher format. But it can convert MS Word format, right?

    Try this...

Hirogen - in MS Publisher just go to File, and Print Set up, and then set your default printer to Acrobat Distiller, or Acrobat PDFWriter.

That should do it for you.

    Hirogen A...

Do you actually have the full Adobe Acrobat, or just the Acrobat Reader software. Reader is just that - it allows you to view Acrobat documents. Great idea they had - give away Reader for free so that people will be more likely to buy Acrobat to create documents, secure in the knowledge that just about anyone will be able to read them.

I've tried a few of the shareware/freeware .PDF writers, and found them uniformly unacceptable. Even the .PDF export filter in WordPerfect is better, and it's not great.

Actually, PDFWriter won't work with Publisher. It's a Postscript issue.

For me to convert Publisher to .pdf, I need to cut and paste my file into MS Word -- which isn't too much extra work.

In case you're wondering how this turns out, send an E-mail to

    It'll auto-reply with a .pdf file.
