The Cardassian v1 has been finished and is available for download...

Any of the Cardassian guys care to provide the link?

The Klingon supplement self-destructed apparently in an explosion of ego's as the writing talent was forced out by the 'My spoken Klingon is supperior to thou' crowd...

And the Trill book is down to 2 authors who are working intermittantly, and from most of AslanC's recent posts going in an entirely different direction to the current species usage...

Ooooooh, yeah! The prime offender was some guy from the KLI who never dropped his Klingon persona and who seemed not to know what an RPG was. I think he wanted to do a Klingon encyclopaedia, deep down. I was working on a section on the role of ritual in Klingon society and how to role-play it. I bailed early on...

Yeah, I was also one the group trying to put this together. At the end the sheer volume of flames because of supposed non-klingon "proper" spellings or phrasing is what made me bail on the project as well. Too bad it could have been cool

so why not get the good people together into an invitre only egroup, then the Klingon fanboys have to apply to get in and can just as easily be kicked off...

I have a couple of rules for klingon stuff that I would like to put into the hat for development...

I'm game. The old files are still up at the yahoo group we had, but i'm not sure how much is/could be re-used by a new group. Another problem with the old netbook may have been scope. We were trying to cover everything. I was working on klingon ground forces and space stations, plus some ship designs. There seemed to be alot of ship designs if memory serves But no-one ever got down to posting any cultural stuff. We had char generation rules, a complete timeline, but not much in the way of background info.

So i'd think we would probably want to start from scratch. It would be better/easier in the long run i think.

Just my 2 cups of blood wine anyways.

Try using one of the sourcebooks that already exists as a template (ie Way of Kolinahr, Among the Clans, Way of D'era and The Cardassian netbook.) All of which are some of the best "cultural" sourcebooks I have read for a game. I think that would be a good place to start.

    Talking In Jokes?

Y'know... Its been several months, and nobody has once mentioned ANY of the 'in-jokes' that appeared in the Cardassian sourcebook.

C'mon, surely I'm not alone here?

So far I spotted the Crime family ranks named afer the Sopranos and Corleonnis, and even Evita Peron makes an entrance...

Those are the ones that I spotted, so I assume there were more.

Perhaps a new Klingon SB may be in order.

I to was on the old team, doing Maptology and Klingon Empire strategic resources.

Prehaps we can grab some of the loot and start reworking?

Well spotted. There are a few more. Some were intended as in jokes, some as historical parallels. I can think of a Dr. Who reference and a modern myth off the top of my head. But I'm not telling.
