    Cool I'm a Home Owner!

Well, condo owner actually. Just finished closing today. Closing went remarkably smoothly. All that remains is the move this weekend. Seeing that my new phone (thus internet) service won't kick in until Monday, I'll be off-line from Saturday to Sunday. Now I gotta go cancel a bunch of services. Talk to y'all later!

    Cool Congrats, sir!

    Happy new-home day!

As someone who is trying (emphasis on TRYING! ) to qualify for a mortgage (with a sucky cred rating and low inc.) and just starting to look at homes in the Philly area, I know how tuff the process is. Congrats again!

    Congratulations.

Personally I found getting a mortgage to be the easy part. The decorating, moving and unpacking were the stressful parts. Not to mention taming the overgrown garden!.

As someone who works on the fringes of the Real Estate Industry (I work for a Title Company), I understand the frustrations and hassles of getting a new home.

Congrats on successfully weathering every storm!

As a new home owner myself, welcome to the club...just remember, make your mortgage payments on time.

Steve, can I assume that Peelers is Canadian for Strippers? I can't find it in my Canuck to American dictionary anywhere.

Congrats. As a condo owner, do you have to deal with such things as tree blight ($2000 to get every tree but one cut down), lawn mowing, and washouts?

    If you do, watch out.

    If you don't, lucky bastich.

Thank you all for the well wishes! I got off kind of easy. My realestate agent was a close friend of my Dad's. If anyone in the DC Metro area is house hunting, let me know and I'll hook you up.

    Lizard Queen: Thank you!

Hugh: Hang in there bud. Don't be afraid to be picky.

Greg: Yeah, I am not looking forward to "U-Haul Saturday"

Gamethyme: Yeah, I got on a first name basis with the Titling agent

Ghosty: Brother, you ain't lying. I've made arrangements for them to withdraw funds directly from my checking account.

    Cap'n Hunter: Thanks man!

Cap'n Blake: I'm a lucky bastich. It's covered (along with utilities) in the condo fee.

Steve: Please remember this time to put the peelers into the cake after its been baked. Although I appreciated the sentiments, I did not like spending the night of my birthday on that seedy dock by Lake Ontario

Now prepare for phone and mail solicitations like you've never had in your life - home security, new windows, lawn service, plowing, mortgage insurance, home insurance, better mortgages, etc.

    But enjoy.

Ah Dan, but that's why God invented answering machines

Well, besides getting the cable installed, cleaning the old apartment, and turning the key in, everything should be done. I'm pretty much all moved in. Thank you all for your well wishes.

Well, I was told that I cannot qualify for a mortgage at this time. Correction... I can't qualify for one I CAN AFFORD at this time!

Ah, well. Time for the wife & I to get to work on the credit rating.

    Hmmm.
