I could post a prelim if anyone is interested???

Especially when Bajor is but a scant 4 or so sectors away from Earth.

ps: As many have seen before, I make the most out of the material to hand with the reality of an Astonomical background. In some cases YMMV!

The First Federation made it's first and only appearance in the TOS episode "The Corbomite Manuever". Based on the one example ship seen there, it possesses a technology considerably in advance of the Federation's best. At the end of the episode, a beverage called "Tranya" was mentioned, and this beverage has been mentioned in a number of DS9 episodes. From this, one might speculate there is some limited contact between the First Federation and the UFP. But they are not part of the same polity.

Okay here's my current work, quickly jazzed up with some rough politcal borders.

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Fedsiz...302%20copy.JPG

The star names and postions are highly accurate using current stellar data (except of course the 'made up' Trek stars ).

Most of my maps are based on the notes I took whiile studing the DS9 DW Battlemaps sometime ago. And thus reflect the approximate positions of DS9 and surrounds from those said maps and DS9:TM.

    eg. Bajor-Cardassia 5.25 ly

and SB 375 - Core Worlds 50.3 ly (Bajor-Earth 50.3 ly or even 70.3 ly for core worlds; wasn't going to work in the close proxcimity sector arrangement from the DS9 DW maps)

Thus an overview distance for Bajor-Earth is app. 105.8 ly reflecting:

    Bajor - SB 375 app. 36 ly (35.5 ly)
SB 375 - Federation Core Worlds (outer limits) 50.3 ly
Fed Core Worlds - Earth 20 ly (20ly radius core worlds area)

Have fun and tell me what you think

Well, I sure like the overall arangement of the stellar powers. In particular, the Gorn/Romulans/Fed coming together fits my long-running game.... the one reason I held back from showing the "Stellar Cartography" map to my players was because I'd have to give up Outback Sector.

I kinda liked the Gorn and Tholians in the same general area near the Klingon space. Otherwise, most of it is close to where I kinda thought it should be.

Well, since Yahoo Groups is currently down for maintenance (15-16 March) and probably won't be up 'til tomorrow, you'll have to pardon us for not commenting on something we can't access, SIG.

Care to shed some light on why you prefer the Gorn and Tholians to closeby to each other and Klingon space Qerlin?

Guess mostly 'cause I figure the original Enterprise spent a lot of time in the same general area of space. At warp 5 at the cruise speed, they couldn't have gotten around as much as the D.

And didn't the episodes happen close to each other (I think...)
