Start as LUGTrek and convert to DecTrek later

I'm in the finishing stages of preparing for a new PBEM. My question to the group is whether to start it as LUGTrek and convert over to DecTrek (if the party agrees) or wait for DecTrek to be released and start the PBEM then?
Any/all opinions accepted.

If you ask me, I'd continue to wait for DecTrek to come out before starting a new PBEM.
I see no sense in starting over if DecTrek is going to be released, say, around Kirk's Birthday (the 22nd).
And no, I'm not picking on Decipher. I just threw out that date arbitrarily after checking the calendar on Startrek.com website.

As someone who has just started my first attempt at running a Star Trek PBEM I would wait until DecipherTrek comes out as you don't need the added hassle of converting to DecipherTrek (believe me, you really don't need any more hassle).
