I need your help! Anyone familiar with 'Full Thrust'?

    Yes?

Well, I've already designed a pretty thorough conversion system for FT in the ST setting.

But now I want to convert everything Spacedock to FT (Fleet Book 1 standards)!
Basically, I want to "stat" out in FT format the ships found in the different SRMs.

So people familiar with FT could be able to run fleet battles with minimum fuss using all of the Spacedock designs.

I've nailed down movement, SI, shields, torpedoes; but I don't know what to do with beam weapons. I have the following variables to take under consideration : number of strips/banks, damage and number of shots per strip/bank. I'd like to use the FT beam rules as fatefully as possible. Also, I'm not planning to have all beam strips/banks to have all-arcs capabilities (ie f-fp-fs-ap-as-a). For instance, the 5-shot Type X main arrays on the saucer section of a Galaxy class cruiser would have a f-fp-fs-ap-as arc and NOT an all-around arc.

Any idea would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Smile ST:FT

In the early 90's a guy called James F Clay produced a series of record cards for ST:FT.
These included the Original Series,DS9,TNG and more.
The rules were designed to be quick learn and play for putting on displays at games conventions around the UK for the SFSFW.
Threshold rolls were dealt by drawing a card and applying the damage.(ie: loss 2 thrust or phasers off-line etc).
The game was a big hit and won countless best participation game awards around the UK.
Anyone who would like to look at the work done please feel to email me and I'll send some samples to you.
James Clay Stop Wargaming in the late 90's and thus died a great fun game.

Thank you. I already have a set of rules by James Clay and I can easily understand why it was so popular during conventions. Expecially using the MicroMachine ships.

But what I'm looking for is a way to convert the data found in Spacedock into the FT setting. For instance, a ship with Spacedock impulse acceleration rate of 66% would have a thrust-6 rating in FT terms. So how could I convert, say, a Type-X phaser strip that causes 200 pts damage and can fire 5 times?

    thanks for your help.
