    Unhappy Damon Knight 1922-2002

Damon Knight passed away the other day. He was founder of the Science Fiction Writers Association, and his best known story has to have been "To Serve Man". His obit can be found at http://www.sfwa.org/news/knight.htm

Is that the same "To Serve Man" that was shown on the Original Twlight Zone?

    Unhappy

Yes, he wrote that story. He also wrote many of the great SF works of the 50's and 60's. He also founded the SFWA, which is the closest thing that SF writers have to a "union"... it acts to protect the rights and priviliges of SF writers everywhere. For both of these reasons, he was one of the most important figures in SF.

    He will be missed.

    RIP.
