To play as a character? Dunno...

To see as a villain? Tholians (dunno if they are in the TOS book, but I haven't seen it)

In the novels? That jellyfish/spider character from Uhura's Song

Anybody have any ideas on the Horta as a playable race ? Some TOS novels by Diane Duane featured one...Narhat or something to that effect if I remember right...

I would think low coordination...being a rock and all...

Natural armour, toughness, high pain threshold kinda thing...

I don't have the TOS core book where, if I understand it, they are included in the creatures section ?

One good skill could be: Engineering, Self (Spot-weld) for attaching things such as commbadges !

But seriously, I don't know what kind of potential they may have...no arms or legs...eat through just about anything, like bulkheads....hmmmm

I wouldn't use a Horta as a PC myself. I agree with Patrick Murphey's comments in his template. They are in the Ops Section under Species Data.

How about the Thallonians, from the New Frontiers Series, or the two non-omnipotent species from Doctors order's?
