    Lightbulb Conversion Rules?

    Rumor was that we might see some conversion rules on the website(s).

    Would the PTBs know anything about this?

    Oh, love the new game by the way.

    The conversion guidelines are in the works, but there is no ETA at this time for their release.

    Question Conversion rules

    Will the Conversion Rules cover converting from Fasa to Dec, or just Fasa to Lug or Lug to Dec?

    Actually, conversion appears to be a snap. Multiply the LUG attributes by two to the the Deciper Attributes. As far as the skills go, just multiply the LUG versions by 1.5 (rounding down) to get the Decipher version. That's what I'd do anyway...

    I don't think ICON X2 is correct. More like 5+ICON+ICON EDGE. At least for any stat of 2 or greater.

    The official conversion rules will be for Icon (LUG) to Coda (Decipher) only. Nothing stopping you from doing your own FASA to Coda, though.

    If I don't hear from anyone tomorrow at Decipher on the conversion rules I'm going to post the ones I created. (Which are probably going to be the official ones anyway.)

    Why wait for conversion rules? I wouldn't be too hard to fake it.

    Convert the stats and skills over:

    For stats- Subract 2 from the ICON value and treat as the stat
    modifer in CODA.

    For skills:
    1= 2
    2= 5
    3= 7
    4= 10
    5=12

    For specilaties- covert over directly. Maybe adjust the skillsa bit for a character with low skill and high specilty to balance off a bit.

    Courage- covert direct.

    Edges/Falws- Convert over from ICON to CODA equivalents.

    Advancements- Pretty much calculate after conversion by seeing how many advancements it would take to create such a PC in CODA.

    THat should be enough to convert.

    The idea is to capture the essence of the character, not set it in stone. All conversion rules are just guidelines anyway, so the Narrator is going to want to adjust things a bit. No sense making the conversion process to rigid.

    True, but as Don was in on the creation of the game, I'd like to see what his system comes out like. I'm sure I could make my own if I wanted to, and I still might But I'm just interested in what Don has done.

    Now that Don's posted his "offical" conversion notes the waiting is over. Not too much difference between his numbers and my "quick coversion" notes.

    I must be getting a grasp on CODA.

    Now I wonder if anyone will write up some 'Tours of Duty" in advancement format?
